eCtune @ Blueridge Motorsports
Thought I would share my eCtuning experience with everyone. Tune was $400, plus I bought the ECU and had it chipped at the frequent customer discount (typically runs about $200ish there). There are 22 authorized eCtuners in the states and canada.. http://ectune.com/ . It's a great program, and maybe because it is younger, it's less well known than hondata and other options.
I seem to have a little more torque on the low end than with the p13 and the powerband feels super smooth now... The high end speaks for itself...runs hard right to redline, and vtec kicks in at about 4800. Rev limiter is only at 7600 (I think... I haven't bumped it.), but the power is falling anyway and it's super easy to never leave vtec (seems like a 7200ish shift puts me at about 5000ish). dyno videos... whatever you call the plastic in the wheel well was removed before pulling onto the mobile dyno... thus the plastic lip flopping... 1992 Honda Prelude Si/JDM VTEC Swap* *Provided by Blueridge Motorsports; 306 Sterling Street, Morganton, NC 28655 Engine: JDM H22A* M2B4 Limited Slip Differential* Koyo 2 Row Aluminum Radiator* w/ trimmed stock fans Stage 1 Competition Clutch* Custom 3” Short Ram Intake* w/ Kool Blue Cone Filter* NGK Spark Plugs* HP Racing Ceramic 4-2-1 Header* Custom 2.5" Header Back Exhaust* Magnaflow High-Flow Cat. 16”L 4”W Resonator* Nopi Titanium Muffler* Dyno eCtuned P06/P28* Suspension: Neuspeed Sport Springs KYB AGX Adjustable Shocks SPC front and Rear Camber Kits (Balljoints) Energy Suspension HYPER-FLEX Polyurethane Bushings Polished Front and Rear Strut Tower Bars* Stock 15” rim w/ 205-55-15 Yokohama Avid V4s ![]() here is another chart...this chart shows the stock p13 (in black) vs. the chipped/tuned p28 (several pulls)... ![]() ![]() see the nice gain in torque through the lower part of the band? car pulls from about 35mph in 5th gear (approx 1500rpms on feels solid)... I don't usually let it, but it can comfortably cruise along at around 35mph. peak numbers are just that, peak numbers... they don't speak to how much difference was really made with the tune... people who have rarely ridden with me have noticed the additional power. This program is great... I still want to set my radiator fans to come on a touch sooner and get the CEL set as a shift light.... launch control is wicked...

it takes awhile to get used to it at teh track tho. it feels realllyyyyy weird launching with your foot to floor when your trying to get a good hook up, and not do a massive burn out. CEL as a shift light is also awesome

IT'S THE BLUERIDGE MOTORSPORTS MOBILE DYNO!!
you guys in the south... they will bring the dyno to you (if you are close enough) if you can round up enough people to pay about 40-70 bucks for a few pulls on the dyno... though I must admit, mine only ended up on the dyno because I wanted her tuned out right... not just to watch her waste gas and get a couple numbers... |
