Icon5 King Motorsports Unlimited Engine Rebuild

Has anyone ever had this business rebuild their Honda engine? Why does it cost so much to have a honda engine rebuilt? I have had American engines rebuilt for a lot less money. I am shocked at the high price they want to rebuild a four cylinder engine.

Is this a good company and do they do quality work?

See the link. Their engine rebuild prices are a little more than half down the page.

Look at how much it cost to buy a new H22 assembled head and an assembled H22 block (They don't come as one unit) and it'll be about the same as rebuilding the engine will all OEM parts.

I would like to know why they cost much money? Are they getting rich off Honda fans or what?

I would say so.
Try www.laskeyracing.com
They can build whatever you want at a fraction of the cost.

Just be sure to give them specifics of what you want. They specialize in race engines but you might can save a little money. If you want just a rebuild, just get them to hone the cylinder walls, use oversize type s pistons, balance the crank, leave the balancer shafts, keep the stock rods if they look good, use the ACL bearings, OEM oil pimp, H23 manual tensioner, new t-belt, 3 angle valve job, and call it a day. At least that's what I'd do if I were on a budget and needed a rebuild. Otherwise, I'd go with their N/A build they offer and just tell them to leave the balancer shafts and use the Eagle rods. It's 11.5:1 compression, which is pump gas friendly, just set aside a few hundred for ECU and tuning.

Si,

I plan on calling them Monday and getting a price quote. If and when I do need an engine rebuild all I want is the engine put back to stock or near stock.

I have a Chevrolet Camaro Z28 that I have put a lot of hot rod parts into. I just want the Prelude to be my daily driver kind of car.

rebuilding an engine correctly takes time, knowledge and tools. Paying someone who is good at what they do is not cheap.

King has some badass dudes working for them who don't cut corners whatsoever.

Re: King Motorsports Unlimited Engine Rebuild

Ancient Chinese secret sir.

Nah seriously, I do a lot of research.
Lately I seem to see this F22b thing pop up, so I did some searching, saw this and well...

King just brokered the Vibrant H22 header group buy, so I thought with Blake saying they are good at building motors I figured I'd bump this old thread in hopes somebody may buy some parts from them.

Re: King Motorsports Unlimited Engine Rebuild

Interesting thread. Especially the part where almost no one seemed to know who King Motorsports is, and what they've accomplished with Hondas. These are the same guys, after all, who first took Preludes into serious competition, introducing a 2d gen into IMSA.
