Plastic in Fenders

A few weeks ago I was changing the filter for my CAI and when I put back on the plastic the bolt that is in the rear of the wheel well broke. So I drove around like that for the last few weeks but all of a sudden today it fell, caught my wheel and shredded. I almost lost control of the car and had to rip out the whole of the plastic on the side of the road. Alright, now for the question, what does this plastic cover in the fender do, is it important, if so, how can I replace it? Thanks for any help dudes.

The fender liner just keeps dirt and debris from getting under the fender and in the front of the door jamb. If you wanna keep your stuff clean its pretty important, but it wot hurt the car if its not there.

To replace just take off all the bolts on the wheel well itself and then the front is a little tricky. Just compare to the other side where the bolts are.

you would be surprised how much dirtier it gets without that liner. plus you have a cai... without that liner, you pretty much modd'ed your lude into a vacuum cleaner.

I had almost the same thing happen to me...and I thought oh well don't really need them. Well if you want all kindsa nasty stuff on the under side of your hood not to mention water and other gunkies in hard to clean places....I would suggest just replacing them, because cleaning places you didn't need to clean before sucks!

just find one in a junkyard or someone parting their car out. you can get it for cheap, and you won't be kicking yourself later.

Alright guys, thanks for the concern. I guess I will get a replacement, cause it just sounds harder not to get one, at least in the long run.

I had the same thing happen, but I never removed it. I pulled into my gf's driveway and it popped out. I got it replaced at the stealership for $77 with tax and install(I work for honda though[make the accord]).
