aight dude, here's the deal:
you can either go to http://www.turbo-kits.com and spend $3000-3500 on a complete kit and you'll be boosted in no time

orrrrrr

you could buy your own turbo, manifold, downpipe, intercooler, piping, oil line kit, blow off valve, wastegate (if not internal), engine management, gauges, injectors, and fuel pump.... you'll learn EVERYTHING there is to know about turbo'ing, you'll save at least $1000, and you'll actually know what everything your installing does/how it functions.

Greddy is overpriced for what you get. Plus their turbos suck.

well if memory serves.. the turbonetics/fmax kit runs 2700.... if you look up the price of all the parts included individually... (i don't remember exactly, i did it a while ago) i believe the kit is cheaper...

i got my kit with a few upgrades... ball bearing turbo, hks bov, tial wastegate

Prelude2000-yeah man, a kit is proven and tested. i'd go with a kit. unless you got the money to figure out and test the kind(s) of set up you want.

Re: turbo kit

yeah i was looking at the turbokits.com myself. I don't even have a lude lol but i'm researching about how turbo's work. i'm only familiar with S/C'd applications. but I have more than enough money to match over half the guy's boosted ludes on here. been saving for a while and I think the prelude h22 will be my new project. probably cause an upgraded tranny alone for my GP will cost $3k to make it an 11sec car :(

but my spending limit right now is well within reach of a 300+whp lude. I am looking to boost about 10psi or higher, defently wanna hit 300hp when I buy a prelude. I'mma use it for drag racing hehe. Just want a good time and learnng project for a awesome fast DD. I'd love to peek into the 12's on the track but 13's is more than pleasable...probably shoot for high 13's since it will be my first engine teardown build. ( don't worry, I have 2 lifer mechanics at my side's for any on-site matience issue )

one more question. will a factory ECU be tunable at a dyno tune shop? or will you have to buy a "chipped" ECU and then take it to the dyno shop?

sooo good info guys, imma keep reading :)

Re: turbo kit

finally, some more competition.

high 13's will be no problem for you, and if you have the supporting suspension/traction parts, low 13's is possible as well.

no stock ECU can be chipped or tuned. a chipped ECU is the most cost-effective and reliable setup, then stand-alones

Also, those kits are terrible. Fabricate one from scratch and you'll be happy you did. A lot of work goes into making a non turbo car have boost.

1) theres no point of building non vtec h23
2) theres no point of building automatic honda

you should really sell that car and buy manual prelude with h22 OR buy another engine (manual h22) and build it... in this way you can still drive your car and then when the engine is ready just do engine swap

+ stage 1 cams are totally waste of money...gains are minimal and stage 2 cams cost about the same. but with stage 2 cams you need higher compression (better pistons) and upgraded valvetrain but like I said theres no point of building non vtec h23... you have to spend A LOT money to get even that point what is h22s stock hp
