1990 2.0 SI oil pressure and power problems

Hey Folks!

I have a 1990 Honda Prelude with the B20A5. It is a mini stock race car. I am beyond stumped, I have had three motors do the same thing...and its starting to make me doubt my mechanical abilities.

The Problem -

I start the car, and I have all the power in the world up to 7500 rpms (perfect), and the oil pressure floats from 40 at idle to 80 under load (perfect). I take the car out on the track, and for three laps it runs perfect. After three laps, my oil pressure starts slowly going down (I shut it off and bring it in before it reaches 10), and the car will not go above 5000rpms and has a very boggy noise to it. I have replaced the oil pump on each motor with a new one, and it still happens! Any and all ideas would be great! I went from winning 14 races a couple years ago, to struggling to get the car to run three laps. Thanks for the info ahead of time!

Motor has also not overheated. Runs at 160 degrees. Anyone also know any cheap tricks to get some more HP?

I'm thinking it the Oil pressure sending unit or hte oil pickup my be clocgged. the hotter your engine runs, the sludgy parts will start mixing back into the main oil supply. that's my only guess.

any leaks from the cam seals or the o rings?
