No new updates as of right now. I'm just saving as much money as I can. It's hard to buy a bunch of parts when you're building a house. House should be done by Christmas, then I'll order the manifold as a present to myself haha. I plan to purchase as many parts as I can the first 10 months of next year, then pull the motor and do all of the work winter 2014/15.

long term goals are good. I wish I had spread my build out over a longer period of time, I wouldn't have taken it "too far".
cant wait to see some progress with this motor build

Re: I Need Boost in My Life. . . and E85

After weighing a lot of pros and cons its looking like i'm just going to run pump gas. I will be traveling in this car going to meets and what not and i do not want to worry about finding E85 stations and mixtures and blah blah blah. Plus it will save me some money on fuel parts. My power goal with the turbo i'm using is still very easily achievable on pump gas. This decision just makes sense.

Re: I Need Boost in My Life. . . and E85

sounds good bro, I too plan on goin turbo but E85 is so hard to find around here , im just gonna stick with good ol 93

P.S i feel ya on the house.....I tore apart the Lude over a year now and not much progress.. Between buying stuff for the house and my kids , its nearly impossible to save for car parts.

Re: I Need Boost in My Life. . . and E85

No updates yet, just piling up parts as I find good deals. Recently picked up a set of Darton Wet Sleeves. Planning to start tearing into things the end of this year.

Re: I Need Boost in My Life. . . and E85

^ but you will need to ensure that your ECU can be programmed to use the output from the sensor. IIRC, Hondata can do this, and I believe that NepTune can as well. AEM can, and I'm looking into how to program Motec to do it.

Re: I Need Boost in My Life. . . and E85

FYI, I run 1000cc grams at 65psi. Made 450whp at 15psi on rocketbrand e85. I still had a lot of room injector wise.

food for thought. 450whp...other than your standard turbo stuff and crankcase venting...... upgrading the fuel lines, running $750 dollar axles, and some other things are completely unnecessary. Fine if you are just wanting to add stuff nut converting that turbo to ball bearing isn't worth the effort when it will make plenty of power. That's a big, small frame turbo and will make large amounts of power with low boost. I would honestly recommend a smaller turbo but you can do what you want of course.

no need for porting. a GOOD valve job (not random machinist) will do well. now porting will do well if you are willing to pay for the right people to do it. bit its simply not necessary for that "low" of a power output.

keep it simple.

Re: I Need Boost in My Life. . . and E85

also, about the twin. there are 3 different h series twins. same disk but different t pressure plate grabbing forces. A being the lightest pedal and C being the heaviest. I don't know which one I have in the hatch since I bought it used but my prelude had an A and it was a whole lot easier to drive than my hatch. my clutch is the hatch is very...very....noisy.

Re: I Need Boost in My Life. . . and E85

^^ Interesting to know. I was just told the A and B were discontinued and now only the C is available. I was hoping to buy an A! How is the clutch noisy? Noise from the floating plates when the clutch is disengaged?

I'm not going to be converting it to ball bearing, turned out Full Race wanted like a grand to do the conversion which is the cost of a whole new turbo. I got the turbo for free from a friend so that's why I'll be running it.

Thanks for the bits of info though. I would like Rosko to do all of my machining if thats possible at the time. There aren't really any reputable machinists in my area to my knowledge.

Re: I Need Boost in My Life. . . and E85

E85 works wonders with boost and a tune!!! My brother gained around 83whp with it. you'll love the smell of it lol. btw it burns faster but costs cheaper so at the end its about the same(you probably know that). idk if you've heard that you can't run e85 on rubber fuel lines? well that's crap lol you can run it like that. just some input on it (: cant wait to see this come together good luck!
