Going turbo? -- get ready for headaches. This is my quick story.

Been there, done that.
Next turbo car will be OEM.

This is my quick "review / time lapse" of my turbo project, now two years after the fact.
Got it tuned in June 2010, drove great, was quick.
Went crazy hunting down oil leaks from "setup", drove it until September 2010, h23 crankshaft broke in two pieces, destoyed my block.
Rebuilt my engine, got it running by May 2011, but at this point the timing and tune seemed to be all messed up.
Car was too low for Turbo, destroyed my SS 3" exhaust. New 3" exhaust was fabricated from turbo to muffler.
Still remained lowered, messed up my flex pipe. Old flex pipe out, new flex pipe in, twice.
New problem arose - smoke out of my catch can, oil smell and smoke going into my cabin. Probably hurt my lungs in the long run.
Turbo started leaking oil and smoking, downtime again.
Rebuilt my turbo, installed everything back up.
Oil continued to drip on my driveway and everywhere I parked. Never resolved this issue.
Acceleration was not there anymore, car probably needed another tune. Tried not to drive until tuned again.
Parked the car in September 2011, bought a CRX as my daily. Love my 1.5L, 92 HP daily.
Said "F. this - I'm going back to NA."
Prelude is almost back to NA. Hopefully I can finally enjoy it again, it's been awhile.

Nothing but headaches after I went Turbo on the Prelude.
Maybe you guys have had better luck, or will have better luck with turbo on the Prelude, but I did not.
Still love my Prelude. Learned a lot during my turbo build, so nothing about this is regretted.
This is just my little story, of what happened to my Prelude after it saw boost.

I had the idea to turbo my H23 or just H22A swap...still leaning towards na H22 for the reliability and VTECCCCCC

Sucks, doesn't always work out well for everyone. What kind of turbo and other parts were you using? Was it name brand parts or ebay stuff?

Brand name parts.
The breakdown of all parts under the "Engine" section (click link ) .. :::street_ride14::: 1993 H23vtec-Turbo
.. written in September 2010.

It was fun at times to diagnose and fix, but frustrating when parts kept breaking or not running right.

Wait, why the fuk did your crank snap in 2 as well???

Mine was due to oil starvation.

You pretty much summed up my turbo experience as well; fixing exhaust leaks, welds on the manifold/exhaust due to being so low, 3 diff exhaust setups..

sounds like your tryna be like me wayyyy too much
