Re: 3 turbos which one to buy?

Any 3 will work, just depends on what your looking for. You willing to sacrifice a lil lag for a lil more top end power?
Or prefer minimal lag, with not as much top end?

Re: 3 turbos which one to buy?

I don't mind a lil lag. I'm hoping to hit around 270hp with my set up. Also I was woundering if it would be OK to just run of the wastegate for 7-8lbs instead of getting a controller. I have a rial 38mm

Time for you to do a lil math to figure out whp, CFM, PSI, pressure ratios, etc...

Re: 3 turbos which one to buy?

that was a great link!! i think im going to go with this one.
t3/t4
Compressor trim: .70 ar
Compressor Wheel diameter: 57.36 /81.87
Turbine wheel diameter : 57.50 /73.60
Exhaust trim: .63ar

eventually when i build the block i might use the same turbo and just rebuild it, and run it with a lil more boost.

but do u think it will be fine to just run from the wastgate without a boost controller for a while. i have a tial 38mm that has a .6 bar (8.82psi) spring.

Re: 3 turbos which one to buy?

That was the turbo I was going to recommend, since its the largest .ar means it allows you the most head-room for potential/future power. Glad to see SOME people would rather do their own homework rather than getting spoonfed!

From the math, will the t3/t4 70a/r @ 8.8psi put out the whp that your looking for??

For the record, I started with ~130whp/wtq, and instantly jumped to 250whp/275wtq, which felt aweeeeeesomeeeee on the street!!!

thats a really small turbo, no point in putting that in a h22

yessir it will give or take a lil bit psi. iv been doing a lot of researching on parts and tryn to get the best out of my money cause im on a budget, even though budget and turbo dont belong in the same sentince lol. but i pretty much have everything, buyn the turbo on monday and just got the turbo mani from the shop today (got it ported a bit to increase flow) and then all i need is a downpipe and exhaust piping (which im getting custome made for $150!!!) intercooler piping and the money so blake can tune it. the only thing im not sure about is if i should get a boost controoler, or just run it straight from the wastegate? and the research continous

For the record, I started with ~130whp/wtq, and instantly jumped to 250whp/275wtq, which felt aweeeeeesomeeeee on the street!!!
i cant wait!!! i dyno"d my car a while ago and it was hitting 191hp so this will be a big jump for me also

Re: 3 turbos which one to buy?

A boost controller is only necessary if you want to turn the boost up. If your able to hit your target HP at wastegate psi..... than there's no need to get a boost controller. It'll only lead to bad news, since you'll get tempted to start turnin her up, and up, and up, and BOOMMM!!!!
