yet another turbo question...

i've been googling and searching reading posts for the last few weeks. and the setup i'm using is a tdo5 ( eclipse 2g ) manifold downpipe... due to my recent motor rebuild my wallets burned a hole all the way down to the bottom. only downfall is my turbo went with the motor. i don't have the luxury to spend on purchasing another manifold etc. just rather put that money on the most decent turbo i can get my hands on. so here's the specs.
h23 darton sleeve
crower rods, stage 2 cams, dual valve springs, si stainless valves, pnp heads,
ported stock intake with 70mm skunk2 tb., balanced crank and etc.
now the question i have is doing research my turbo is a td05. was running big 16g. but wanting more power how big can i go? and what could bolt right on as far as me not having to buy another dp and mani.
evo 3 16g or 20g seems to be as big as i can go for a tdo5 but could i bolt on a tdo6?
when i google tdo5 to tdo6 it's just showing chaning the compressor housing and compressor and making it into a hybrid. and i plan on running around 15psi. or should i run higher?

Re: yet another turbo question...

you're sleeved right ?
What pistons/rods are you using ?
Due to your current limited finances, keep in mind the cost of a proper tune when you change your turbo or setup.

Re: yet another turbo question...

crower rods, cp pistons 87.5mm, darton sleeve. it's a h23 so closed deck. balanced crank etc... for the lower block. head is pnp with si stainless valve, 3 angle valve job, crower dual springs, crower stage 2 forced induction cams. with a blue gates racing timing belt, kaizenspeed balance shaft delete kit, and a kms high flow oil pump.

Re: yet another turbo question...

oh...i guess what i'm looking for is to find a larger turbo that'll work on the dsm exhaust manifold and the o2 housing. cuz that way i'll be able to save money on not having to have another downpipe made and o2 housing and exhaust manifold.

Re: yet another turbo question...

your motor is built for some SERIOUS power. any DSM turbo is gonna be a disgrace and won't do that motor justice.

for example, your gonna hafta crank a 16/20g to 15psi just to make like 300whp, whereas a GT30 can put down like 350whp at 12psi, and your motor is built to handle like 4-500hp

Re: yet another turbo question...

actually talking to a guy i know to sell me his gt35r right now but he's not budging...lol... so looking into a precision 60trim turbo mated with a tdo5 mitsu turbine housing. we're talking about trading swapping turbos. cuz his needs to be rebuilt and my small 16g is what he's looking for. i know the gt35r is a beast esp giving the advantage of it being a ball bearing. but u think the pte mated with a tdo5 is enuf? reading up on how to properly calculate and match my turbo. i tried playing around with the numbers but had no idea what i was doing. so i bought a turbo how to performance book. kinda figuring out what all those words and numbers are meaning now for the website you added on ur sticky. Squirrel Performance
once i get a full understanding i guess i'll do a writeup on how to calculate and compare and match up a turbo.

its really easy math bro, then just plotting points/lines on a map. not rocket science.

Re: yet another turbo question...

well looks like i got a deal locally. going to use the dsm mani with a tdo5 to t4 flange and get a garrett t4 60mm turbo. I don't have any specs on it but would like to get a head start. We will be trading parts so it'll save me a bunch. don't have any info on it. was wondering if this turbo suffice? and what powerband i'd be looking at?

Re: yet another turbo question...

would that cause alot of lag? if so maybe after i trade the turbo i'll try selling it or try trading it for a more resonible turbo? i was checking out squirrel performance to try and match the turbo to see if it'll be okay...but it throws me way off map. maybe i'm inputing it wrong? can't seem to figure out how to input all those numbers.
