Re: H23 Turbo install ???

you can go around 10psi maybe. If you boost on that auto you will destroy it. The auto tranns is very prone to failure especially after 150xxx miles or so. Depending on what turbo set up you use, how well its tuned your looking anywhere for 200 whp to 275 whp on stock internals (thats assuming the motor is healthy). But im going to go ahead and tell you what someone is going to say very soon, to spare you someone saying it very harshly. Research this. The H23 has been boosted over and over its not new or a mystery, we have alot of info on this site about this. Good luck with your build and if you do run a " GOOD " search and dont find the info needed feel free to ask... and the mods know if you ran a good search or not.... they can sense it!

Re: H23 Turbo install ???

6-8 psi is best. ive boosted my h22a4. and yeah auto sucks, dont do that, just get a good h23 tranny or f series tranny, reason why i said f series because of longer gears = good for turbo, but, yeah turbos arent that hard, just time consuming.

c'mon guys, are you all serious ?

since when do we recommend to run a certain psi from a turbo without knowing what the setup is or at least the actual turbocharger being used ?

psi means nothing without actual turbo specs.

well your right bro-ham. That's why i gave him a round about number 200-275 and stated depending on the set up as well. And i didn't recommend any number as well, the PSI i gave was a guess. But you are right, a little more info is needed to give a better estimate.

Re: H23 Turbo install ???

well if it's for experimental use i would say go with a dsm build. parts are easy to get and cheap. and almost everything with some mods bolt on. and run 5~8. parts needed:
255lph fuel pump
440cc dsm injectors (direct fit. just needs to be squeezed in.)
dsm 2g turbo exhaust manifold
dsm turbo/wastegate in internal and should come with the turbo.
oil feed line
oil return
need to weld oil return to oil pan
exhaust downpipe
need to shave ear off block. (if you want how much i have some pics)
bov and charge pipe. i used 2.5" charge pipe but i would recommend 2" or smaller. easier to fit and doesn't need to be that big for a dsm turbo.
front mount intercooler (27x2.5x7) to fit under the front bumper.
and t clamps not hose clamps.
chipped ecu would be cheaper then going hondata

Re: H23 Turbo install ???

Dsm set up is the cheapest way to go, just make sure you get a tune. The tune is the most important part.
