rods for a h23

i'm about to rebuild my h23. sleeve the block i have 87mm CP pistons.
the rods are what's bugging me. i can't seem to find a rod within my entire rebuild budget. i was wondering how much power oem rods can handle? or if anyone knows where i can find some good aftermarket rods that's around $350 at tops. i called the hbeam rods that sold on ebay just to check them out and the answering machine was chinese so i just hung up. I was going to consider it if it was made in the U.S.
my car smokes out blue everytime i'm going into boost. around 3k. i thought it was the turbo seals so i changed the turbo with a rebuilt one but still the same. compression test #3 piston is about 10lbs lower than the rest.

Re: rods for a h23

10psi isn't all that bad. remember your going for consistancy w/ a compression test, not the highest numbers possible.

but there are plenty of aftermarket/forged h23/f22 rods out there (remember f22 rods are the same ). the rods can handle a decent amount, but if your rebuilding it anyway, might as well do it once the right way and be done with it.

carillo or crower, or custom H22 rods

Re: rods for a h23

carrillo and crower both quoted me close to 800. i'm already down 1000 for the sleeves and the pistons... i also got to get the sleeves installed. my engine is still alive so i'm going to try and run a few more miles before i do tear it down but i've been searching for f22 rods and i'm still coming up dry. and custom h22 rods? never heard of that one. i with to keep the motor stock specs so i don't have to remap the ecu... save a little money...
