Boosting the '94 Lude

Okay so i got a 1994 Type S so F22a1 and im boosting her and i didnt want to go tiny turbo like 14b so going a bit bigger i kno not much but going with a big 16g dsm set up. I got mostly everything figured out this will be my first big project so ready for some problems but hopefully there are none (crosses fingers). Want to kno where a good place is to get a IC piping kit and intercooler if people say ebay how can i tell if it's a correct kit and such. Also wastegate wise can some1 help me out on that plan on doing 8-10psi with the 16g with a good tune. Also where a good place is to get a big 16g turbo im guessing a mitsubishi forum would be best. If people are going to say go search and not help then w/e though this was a helping site. But thanks in advance and also since boosting guess i should open up exhaust pipes as well to 3" correct in here if anything is wrong. was going to go with 450cc dsm injectors blue tops and walboro pump since not much selection there. Stock fuel rail is solid till 400hp right? please tell me if not otherwise wont upgrade the fuel rail wont be making anywhere near those numbers. Also last but certainly a major thing going to go stage 2 clutch as some1 should for boost what would u all recommend ACT, CClutch, someone told me about some G4orce place please if some1 has time help me out. Thanks to all those who view im not just some guy saying im going to boost as soon as i find a good deal on a 16g im going boosted. Help is always welcome

No you don't. Do a little research and learn what type of car you actually have then I'll read the rest of your thread.

Easy there, I'm sure he meant the regular S model .. he mentions F22 motor after it.

Re: Boosting the '94 Lude

phearable would be a wise choice. Its just a chipped ecu, and theyll put a basemap for your mods on.

ive heard good and bad things about competition clutch products. the bad was when they didnt buy a matching flywheel... that or exedy imo. Alot of people run ebay IC's, i think nick ( twokelxv6coupe ) on here does, and hasn't had any problems with it. I think a 16g on your f22 should put up some pretty nice numbers depending on if the f22 stock can handle it.

Re: Boosting the '94 Lude

Since I have to get a stage 2 clutch should I also save a bit more for a lightened fly wheel or how much of a difference does that actually make? and I have searched a ton on many forums that's how I have learned all that I know about boosting now. Last but not least what are some good prices for clutches so I know what price range to be looking in and if there are any recommended websites to buy clutches from please let me know

Re: Boosting the '94 Lude

For flywheels and clutches?

I would stick with Fidanza for a flywheel. I have their 8lb unit and I love it.

As for clutches, I like Exedy. But there are some other great companies out there... ACT, Competition Clutch, Clutchmasters, Spec, and many more.

Re: Boosting the '94 Lude

F1 STAGE 2 CLUTCH KIT & FIDANZA FLYWHEEL 92-01 PRELUDE: eBay Motors (item 400117259474 end time Jul-22-10 14:20:24 PDT)
i mean is that like a reliable post it says it fits all trim preludes and accord so all F series and H series motors so the clutchs are interchangeable also the flywheels then at least for aftermarket?

Re: Boosting the '94 Lude

Yes, flywheels and clutches are interchangeable between F and H series motors (barring the F20C/F22C from the S2000). Although, I haven't heard great things about F1 clutches, so keep that in mind.

better to have more clutch than the power you're making .. try not to look at stages, rather look at what the horsepower / torque rating of the clutch is .. have an idea of what power goal you're going after and buy your clutch accordingly.

Re: Boosting the '94 Lude

I built a kit for a 4th gen a few years back with a GT28RS and that thing was great. It made 300 whp on 8 psi 93 octane. Not bad. Spool and power band were amazing.

Re: Boosting the '94 Lude

Oops, sorry I just checked back on the receipts it was a 2871r This turbo. Good for 460 and great spool. Full boost at 3000. On the right manifold of course :P We used the internal gated turbo because of the clearances near the alternator, PS and AC which the customer wanted to keep.
