Re: FINALLY!!

WG stuck open, wrong boost source for the WG, installed the fire-ring for the WG upside-down, major boost leak, etc....

does the turbo spin when you rev it up?

BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO INSTALL THE TURBO FIRST BEFORE YOU TUNE IT..you dont want to go to the dyno and have something wrong.. you have to have everything installed and ready to go first BEFORE you get it tuned.. he said he was running a rich basemap right now so that he can GET it to the tuner.. hes not planning on driving around for 10 years on a non tuned boosted car. Do you think you just bring it to the tuner and the whole turbo kit just magicly appears perfectly installed on the car with absolutely no problems? NO.

Re: FINALLY!!

also OP, are you in gear ? .. you have to have load on the engine before it builds any boost < in gear.
You can't just rev the motor in neutral and expect boost.

Re: FINALLY!!

in that case check to see if you have a working gauge and trace your hose from the gauge into your vac/boost source and see if the hose is straight and not collapsed anywhere.
Taking the turbo out of the equation you should still near to zero vacuum as you go climb RPMs in WOT, it should not stay at 20-25 vacuum during acceleration, those values are more like while at idle and deceleration.
Check all the connections at the Intake Manifold for vacuum leaks and loose vacuum connections.

What are u talking about? I always tell ppl to tune their cars on here..and mine is tuned.

And like stated before.. He has to get the turbo working before he gets it tuned because if he tunes it now he will have to get it retuned once the turbo is actually working lol

I don't know what you mean by J-Pipe .. got a picture ?
And the MAP sensor should NOT have a check valve between it and the IM, the sensor vacuum line should go directly to the IM (without any check valves) for reading of vacuum/boost.

Oil in your intercooler piping can only come from a leaking turbocharger (compressor side). Pop off your piping from the compressor housing and check inside through the opening of any signs of oil. The turbo may need to be replaced or rebuilt.
A kinked oil feed line will starve your turbo of oil, it will not cause oil in your intercooler piping, and how is the line kinked ? .. if its one of those stainless steel lines then those are hard to kink, you almost have to force them that way in order to bend them that bad

Re: FINALLY!!

the line is kinked because its stand up tall underneath the exhaust manifold so the top of the line cant bend because its not much room for play s its kinked to the side and isnt the pipe that the intercooler piping to lead to the turbo a j pipe? it had a nipple on it so i connected it to the waste gate. and the turbo has no shaft play so idk.. im jus stressed.. nw i need a new turbo

stop saying j-pipe, no one has any idea wtf your talking about. your wastegate can/is either hooked up to your IC piping, downpipe () or intake manifold. no, you don't need check valves for the MAP.

its not coming out of your IC piping, its getting INTO your piping FROM the turbo, and the only cause for this is blown turbo seals, from possibly too much oil pressure, or its just a used, worn turbo.

ok, i THINK i understand WTF you mean by a j-pipe. IC piping. just say that.

Re: FINALLY!!

take a minute and think about this .. why do you think it locked up ? .. in your previous post you mentioned that it had no shaft play ..
What I'm getting at is that if you just replace the turbo without changing anything else, then its gonna lock up again ..
Look into that oil feed line, re-route it so that there are no kinks.
And I recommend getting a New turbo, nothing used, not even a rebuild .. I don't trust rebuild shops/parts.

Agreed, from reading around on this forum I'm surprised at the amount of people that don't do certain things before driving their cars after extensive modifications. I know it's fun to boost a car and all but if you do that and don't tune the car or drive untuned you are risking damage, especially with a stock h series. Good luck people.
