Safc2 On a Turbo 93 prelude?

I am currently starting to build a turbo kit for the 93 prelude si i just bought and i am wondering if i can use the safc2 to tune? I have never built a turbo honda only nissans and wasnt sure if i could just use the safc2 to do my tune like i would on the nissan? If anyone knows for sure and not just speculate on what you think please let me know. I am wanting a sure fire answer as i have about 2-3 safc2 just sitting around from prior builds. thanks in advance,RJCornine

Re: Safc2 On a Turbo 93 prelude?

technically, yes, you can. but they're not the safest. there's other options out there that allow you MANY more capabilities and parameters that you can adjust/tune than what the SAFC's allow you to.

my buddy has a SR20det too and he swears by his safc, but those engines came turbo'd already. preludes never did. i'd say by far the most cost effective way is buying a chipped ECU and getting it tuned.

and moved to F/I

Ok well ask it like this then when you tune the prelude is it nessary to adjust the timing? On most nissans timing adjustments are not needed that's why safc is a good choice. I'm am not fimiliar with hondas.

Re: Safc2 On a Turbo 93 prelude?

please don't use it to tune your lude. from experience i tried... worked for a couple days then BOOM.... ringlands went. its just a hack to fool the map into reading more air for the injectors to compensate. do it right and don't blow your motor. get something good like hondata.... you will see better results and be able to fine tune it.
