Need help to decide if i should boost H22

I'm new here, and just purchased a 92 Prelude Si with an H22 swapped in with about 40000 miles on the engine and tranny. My goals for the end of the project is between 275-300 whp, I'm about 99% sure that I would like to boost my car but I've read some conflicting data on the reliability and how much psi you can boost on an H22. So i guess my main questions are about what psi, and approximate whp can i get out an H22 with stock internals, and how much would getting forced induction cams and all the esentials that go with them help? Thanks alot

Re: Need help to decide if i should boost H22

okay well first i would do a search and see what setups people have ran on their h22 motors w/ turbo. 300hp is going to be almost 10psi to 12psi w/ stock internals and other power adders. w/ a good tune it should be it might be possible. do your homework first.
going fast = money, going fast + reliable = even more money so be prepared.

I feel like I should post up a few threads in here but I'm slowly losing my drunkenness and I have a slammin headache.

Long story short-

You could probably pull 270-310whp with a nice turbo and a good tune and a few other small mods. But as far as daily driving it, you'll most likely want to keep it down around 5.8-7 psi. Your whp at 6psi should be somethin around 240whp or so.

And none of these numbers can be called anything close to accurate because going turbo could produce a million and one different outcomes. The size/trim of the turbo and TUNING being the 2 biggest factors. A crappy DSM turbo from a 1g eclipse, could push 10psi (which is what it maxes if you keep the stock wastegate) and still could possibly make less power than if you used a T67 at 6psi.

A lot of research needs to go into a turbo build. I've changed my mind, here check out the link below...

These are the most important. This one thread that is on honda-tech is a serious forced induction thread. Everything you need to know. PLEASE READ ALL OF IT! It'll save you a lot of questions in the end.
