having trouble with SC'd 5th gen

I just bought a JR supercharged 99 Prelude and it is not running correctly. I am new to the Honda world and I know very little about them, so bare with me :) OK, anytime you start to put the car under load at about 1/4 throttle or more it will just sputter and not go any faster. If you floor it it will go just fine, but doesn't FEEL like it is boosting (does not put you in your seat, feels stock) although I can hear it boosting. The car does also have a vtech controller and a boost timing retard and I have messed with both with little change. I do know that the computer is not programmed for it, but I wouldn't expect it to run this terrible without a tune. I am seriously considering selling off the supercharger and going closer to stock with it, especially if I can't get the bugs worked out of it. Please help.

Welcome mate. I'm going to be absolutely no help to you, but we have a few boosted 5gs on here, so someone who can help will swing by shortly.

You said vtec controller, do you know what sort?

I thought that tuning it was just for better performance and that it would run decent without the tune. Or am I completely wrong?

I bought the car like this...but I do know that the previous owner said she had a new computer put in it recently...so that is probably the problem.

I check in the manual to the SC and it does not come with a computer, it has the boost timing retard and they call the that engine management system. I have that so it must be something else. Any other ideas?

I would have it dyno tuned regardless... it isn't important for bolt on setups... even though it helps, but with a sc or tc you are gonna want to tune.

about one program that is used to tune:

I decided that I am just gonna buy the stock parts to replace it and I will sell the SC(either on here or ebay). So if anyone sees this post and wants to work up a trade of you stock parts plus cash for my blower set up then let me know. I can prove that I have over 350, 100% positive, feedback on ebay.

Yah, I have been on ebay for many years; but I am on a couple other forums from other cars I own/have owned and I like to give the forum communities first dibbs on parts. Not to mention that you don't need to pay steep ebay fees.
