Water under your feet?

Solved water leak on drivers floor!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This solution may also cure water underneath the driverís seat if the car is facing up hill during the rains.

There is a 3Ē rubber grommet located directly below a drain for your wiper cowl that will loosen / shrink with age. If not sealed, this grommet allows water to enter the driverís side floor and soak your carpeting. The water will enter the cabin directly above your fuse box, near the drivers left footrest. To fix it, remove the plastic inner wheel well molding and mud flap to gain access to the rubber grommet located behind the driverís fender. To check that this is in fact where water is coming into your cabin, as it did mine, pour water on the driverís side windshield and have someone check by the foot rest for water leaks, the water will come in instantly. There is a thick foam insulation around the footrest so water leaks may be difficult to detect due to all the insulation. You cant see the grommet from the inside of the car due to all the wiring and fuse boxes.

Wipe the grommet and surrounding areas clean and apply a nice thick coating of silicone around the edges of the grommet. I applied multiple layers of silicone for extra insurance. Let dry, then pour water on your windshield / cowl and check your carpet for water leaks to assure you applied a good coat of silicone.

Hope this helps you as it did me. Please post this on any other websites you may have access toÖ.I see a lot of people have this exact problem, but could not find a solutionÖ..Didnít you wish you read this solution on the first website you found instead of searching online for days?!?!?!?!?!?!
