Different seats?

Kind of thinking about putting different seats in my prelude. Has anyone done this before? Would it be as simple as drilling new holes and dropping new tracks in?

I would really like to find seats accented with blue and orange. I'm not set in stone on my decision and I'm open to any suggestions.

Re: Different seats?

No, in the 20+ years Prelude's have been around, nobody has ever considered let alone attempted changing the seats out for something different.

Of course it's been done.

Just search around for your specific generation and different seat combinations. Or have a shop make you different colored upholstery (since it seems thats all you really want)

Re: Different seats?

^^ THIS

if you like your seats, get an upholstery shop to cover them with new cloth. I say have a shop do it but with a few tools and time spent watching you tube videos you could probably be pretty good at it after doing the backseat. Can't believe I just reccomended you tube videos to learn how to upholster...
Couple hundred bucks, (for a shop) and a few days without your car...unless you don't mind using a 5 gallon bucket for a few days.
Don't scoff...5 gallon bucket seats are pretty standard stuff in old isuzu, nissan and mazda trucks where the seat springs gave out.

Re: Different seats?

I believe S2000 seats will bolt up. I've seen it done and it looks money. Not 100% on the install though.

Re: Different seats?

Yes I saw S2k seats many time, but some modifications must be done to the rails.
Also saw some Civic Euro seats, it looked nice !

You can buy some leather clothing to replace the old one, it will be like this :

Re: Different seats?

I was thinking about maybe trying to get ahold of some junkyard SH seats someday if I can for cheap enough and putting them in my regular prelude (if its worth keeping) tbh. IDK if it would work though...

I work on computers and my knowledge about cars is very limited so I don't know if they would fit or if I would have to replace the rails or anything else. I just love leather seats but I am not willing to spend a ton or deal with seat covers...
