problems with front speakers on my 5th gen

When I bought my car, the speaker covers for the front doors were sitting in the trunk. Thought nothing of it, but when I went to install them, I noticed the driver door panel is cracked, and neither cover will fit correctly. Turns out, the aftermarket speakers are sticking out too far for the covers to fit back in place. Has anyone else had this issue, and no of a solution that doesn't include buying new speakers? They are 6.5's, which is what I thought the factory speakers were

Factory are 'slim line' type. Apparently the previous owner did not buy slim line type.

I went to a junkyard and bought some mighty fine Kenwoods from an accord that fit behind the factory grills for $8.99 each.

Pretty much got flamed for driving like a jackass and was told to slow down. And I'll be damned, slowing down fixed it.

I figured it was something like that. I ended up just trimming the metal edge on the speakers and got them to fit. They are terrible speakers anyways, so it's just a temporary fix until I can buy a decent pair

I bought a pair of Infinity 6030c's for my 5th gen since my old speakers were blown and an MTX TH90.2 amp to go with it for $210 total. The quality is amazing and they go quite loud. I did have to cut the basket of the door panel for it to fit, they're a little bit of a tight fit but they do fit in and go well with the car.
