opinions on these seats
Bought my prelude a few months back after selling my mustang. Not a big fan of FWD cars, so I doubt I'll have it passed the end of winter. But I have 3 questions for you guys.
1. What are some opinions of them, as far as how they look, riceness, etc.. (be as harsh/nice as you want, I want real opinions) 2. I have 2 offers on them. One for 350$ cash + stock seats, one for 500$ cash. Are they worth more than that, or does that sound like a decent price? 3. I feel like it's going to be much harder to sell the prelude in the future with them in it, and I feel like it will limit the people interested to mainly ricers/highschoolers. I also feel like it makes the car seem more like a toy rather than a daily driver. Does anyone else agree/disagree on that? |

Re: opinions on these seats
Do the trade. It'll be much easier to sell the car with seats vs without. And if you sell them you'll spend much of the $500 buying seats to put back.
By the way, those are very desirable seats...even for non ricers and high school kids. They're frikkin leather. And leather is pretty easy to dye where the nylon is pert near impossible to change colors and stay that way. If I were into the red accents thing I'd have some. But for this leftover 80's crumudgen it's all about chekerz. ![]()

Re: opinions on these seats
I think I confused you guys haha. The red leather seats are mine. I have a trade offer for some else's stock seats + 350$ cash. They are the only red thing in the entire car (except the led's and dash lights) which is why I don't really care for them. But They aren't dyed seats, they are legit red leather. Not sure if they are just really really nice seat covers, or what. The previous owner said he bought them from japan and had them shipped in. I'm not sure if they came from a different type of honda, maybe a 2dr accord or something?
I had the car up forsale for a while, and the only people who came to look at it were just highschoolers who acted like they had money, or guys who wish they did. Not a single person showed up with cash in hand. I feel like with stock seats it will look more like a reliable DD, rather than a weekend ricer. But that's just my opinion, which is never right |

Re: opinions on these seats
they are full leather though. I thought type-s had cloth inserts?

Re: opinions on these seats
so then are they worth more than the 500$ I've been asking and been offered? Or should I take the 500$ and buy a set of stock seats for 150?
I just want what makes the car easier/better to sell, since I have a feeling I won't keep the car long. (the longest I've owned any car is 5 months... I've already had this one for 2). I have commitment issues |

Re: opinions on these seats
Honestly, if you're looking to squeeze extra cash out of the car, your best option would be to remove all the Type-S stuff, sell it on eBay/Craigslist, get yourself some regular Prelude seats on the cheap and then sell the car.

Re: opinions on these seats
I was not implying the seats are worth a lot of money. Just that they are desirable.
Now if you bought this car to flip it over to some Accord driver you've missed the whole point of a prelude. It was concieved, designed and built to go fast. So of course high schoolers and youngans want one. It's the holy grail of 4 bangers. But a lot of pot-bellied, balding fellas in their mid life crisis years like them too. And leather seats in them, especially with heaters is an option many-a crumudgen seek to install.

Re: opinions on these seats
I didn't buy it to flip it over. I just know it's bound to happen sooner or later, since I'm not a big import fan anyways. Before the prelude I drove a foxbody mustang pushing close to 350hp, and it got like 6-7mpg. I needed something good on gas that wasn't terribly slow. that's why I looked into the prelude and ended up picking it up
