Re: Nexus 7 head unit replacement

to follow up, appearently i cant (or wont) be able to get my airbag "just" tested. unless my VIN or serial or something fits n its strickly "under recal" my Honda dealer wont test it without testing the whole SRS system, quoting me bout $100 for an hours worth of testing (module and everything) and because i ripped into it im hesitant to let them judge my work at this point. I will be trying the bag again as ive been in and out the car and just recently disconnected the battery for audio stuff (next post) with it fine and stable so far.

TLDR;
Airbag is disconnected, Still tetsing SRS issue, will follow up.

Re: Nexus 7 head unit replacement

finally got an amp for my internal speakers after having running the new cable to them all.
will have pics posted soon.
My current issue, i think i had before, if the "powered" audio noise.

With everything unlplugged and powered on - 0 noise
With my phone/tablet (w/e) - 0 noise I
While USB plugged (charging) - Noise (whine)

i have a ground loop isolator but it actually created Noise, I am going to try a new one and see.

I also realized i dont need these arms...

Re: Nexus 7 head unit replacement

So, as a follow up... the tablet w/o the arms is ok, but it just feels a little loose since the trim doesnt hold firm against it. Its meh...

Also, i guess i lied wen i did the Nexus 2.0, its more like Nexus 1.5. I just did a Nexus 2.0 (or maybe Nexus 3.0 i guess) by replacing the 2012 model with the 2013 model... Fun. Fun.

Once again:

Ive been doing a lot of driving for work recently and I have to say this is WAY better than the 2012 model.
I can do navigation and music all day and still be at 100% battery, the 1st gen couldnt do that.
I also feel its grounded better and i get less of a feedback than the previous model as well as far as audio goes.
The speed is also a big plus because the 2012 Nexus has been pretty rough with any newer version of Android, even if its stripped down. (charging while using maps would still kill that battery)

All and all, this has continued to be an amazing project.

Re: Nexus 7 head unit replacement

So im not sure what the issue is yet, but I got a new ECU (I was using a buddys) and finished all the work on the Lude, and reconnected all my SRS back to normal and I do not have any lights.
I am sure it will come back on eventually, but basically I dont think its my fault, so I have to reason not to expect this project to be anything but safe still...

Re: Nexus 7 head unit replacement

I wasnt really happy with my trunk situation and that my audio has just kind of been hacked together from the start, I finally went and re did all.

The amp is mounted to a board with 1" offsets underneath and held in place by the spare tire mount and an intake manifold bolt so the whole think can be moved and the wires tuck under neatly.

Sooo much nicer now, last thing I wanna do is redo the covering board to something tougher/thicker and thats it.

Re: Nexus 7 head unit replacement

My sister has a nexus 7 that does not boot up, she hasn't used it in over a year.

She won't give it to me, I even offered money.
