Icon6 Backup Camera

I'm a bit new to this site and haven't messed around with it yet so excuse me if this isn't the right place to post this. But I need help with finding a way to wire my Backup camera and getting the wires to the HU. I know where they all connect but how do I get the wires the inside of the car. Do i have to drill a whole somewhere? Anyone installed one in there 5th gen prelude?

Re: Backup Camera

Yes I thought so too but the camera is outside of the car and wires are too so I dont know where i could get the wires to return inside the car to put them under the carpet and panels to the head Unit.

Re: Backup Camera

I just installed mine yesterday on my 5th Gen. Just remove either one of the tail lights. There will be a hole behind it that you can reach through to where the wires for the backup cam will be mounted. After you run the wires through just put it back in and you are done. You will probably have to take the bottom part of the back seat out and the rear interior quarter panel on the side you chose so you can get the wires underneath the carpet.

Re: Backup Camera

Why a rear camera on a prelude?
It doesn't take very long to check behind you before you take off. You check your tires for inflation prior to driving don't you?

Re: Backup Camera

Well there's a guy here installing a prelude body on a corvette and making it rhd, so why not a backup camera?
Perhaps the rear fog light location would be a good place.
EDM models have rear fog light option and I read a thread here regarding that where op said there's some sort of provision for it in usdm bumpers.
