Back cab question

Hello all, this is just a quick survey/advice thread.

I want to remove my back seats and maybe rear door panels, and was wondering if anyone else had done this. I have an '01 bb6

If so whats it look like now? :
is it just the open shell?
did you cover it?
build a box for some I.C.E.?

I want to cover and have a box, so any one with that type of setup whered you get your box and what did you cover it with?

Thanks all, and as always pictures welcome!

Re: Back cab question

I would suggest keeping the side panels on. It's not very pretty without them in there...

I just keep a piece of auto carpet on the bottom with both the top and bottom portion of the rear seat removed.

(my entire car is dyno-matted, so yours will not have all that black sound deadening)

What it looks like without the panels;

back seat removed (i have black carpet on the bottom)

carpet on the bottom with the side panels installed;

The setup from the previous owner that was in the car when I got it. (no longer in my possession, but it's in good hands!!)

Re: Back cab question

Oh nice! I'm more of a mechanical guy vs. fabing....so any idea where I can get a custom box made or work like this done? I just dont really have the first clue as to making a good box that fits well. Something like the seat replacer above, not just a cube in the trunk

Re: Back cab question

Just to toss it out there, that box cost over $600 to have made at an audio shop. Time to get creative and learn to use fiberglass!
