RPM Needle acting differently

I took of my glow gauges and the RPM needle came off. Now it's not going up and down smoothly like it has a mind of its own. Am I screwed?

Re: RPM Needle acting differently

Is there any kind of key way on the back of it, ive never taken mine off.

i would think whatever is holding it on is probably spinning inside itself.

Re: RPM Needle acting differently

sorry man, that happened to me when i put in my gauge faces, i actually made a mistake by taking off my needles before hand, and when i put them back in, they never worked the same :(, its was bad, i couldnt tell my temp, speed would stick in certain spots, the gas was off

Re: RPM Needle acting differently

My tach needle did that too, was sticky in certain spots. I took it all apart and found the windings that cause the needle to pull back down to 0 were unwound and impossible to put back together correctly. Your choices are pretty much live with it sticking a bit or swap out for another needle assembly/cluster.
