DIY trunk work

hey yall peep what i did to my trunk today

i was tired of the old ugly soggy and limp cork board that sat on top my spare tire so i installed a more heavy duty one. i screwed wood to the trunk n then attached that to my custom cut wood piece with hinges. and used some carpet i saved from my old accord. i know i didn't use light weight wood...4thgens need better weight distribution any ways. works great, looks better and can hold my weight, (yes i stood in my trunk to test it ha) o yea it was mad easy im shure any of you could do it

Looks good man, I did the exact same, with a thinner piece of wood. That cardboard is an absolute POS.

umm im far too lazy to do a writeup it was damn easy and where my hinges are located i can access spare easily. like i said juz drill holes in your trunk and screw a block(s) of wood down and thats your base you can build what ever you want off that. but be carefull where you drill i was lazy and was like i hope theres nuthin important where im drilling, which was stupid but it workd

Ok, here is the write up. The Making a false floor for dummies version.

1. remove pos floor.
2. get thicker piece of wood for new floor
3. Trace POS floor on new wood floor.
4. Cut the new wood from the shape traced
5. Cover new floor with material of your choice.
6. Add hinges (if needed, just an option)
7. Enjoy your new, sturdier, floor.

I would have taken pics, but I did not actually
do the work.

your fuel tank works better if it can breathe, a few holes should do the trick
