Re: gauges

Ok...Well what guages are you trying to hook up??? Oil pressure, oil temp, battery guage???? We need as much info as you have... What Gen is your car?? Where do you want to put them?? I may be wrong... but I'm pretty sure this thread is better suited for general tech talk ...I dont really see guages as styling or I.C.E.... But thats just me. I noticed yer new so no big deal, we've all done it... Have you tried searching to see what you can find??

Re: gauges

Yeah it didnt say that before...He keeps editing his first post...I'm surprised no one has asked this yet but, Do you have the mods to neccesitate these guages?? Or are they just for looks?? I dont like to talk people out of doing something they want to do but seriously.... If they're just for looks why hook em up at all?? Mount them and let peoples minds wander...

Re: gauges

all of them most likely are gonna have power and ground. easy.

the boots is most likely mechanical, so you just run vacuum tubing from the gauge to any vacuum source (most likely on the IM)
oil pressure is most likely electric, so your gonna need a tuner-toys block Tee fitting (http://www.hondatuningmagazine.com/f.../photo_05.html) and a 12-24" section of steel braided hose to remote mount the Tee with the stock and aftermarket oil pressure sensors on the firewall which is much safer than putting the fitting directly onto the block. then run the signal wire from the aftermarket OPS to the gauge.

and do you mean oil temp, coolant temp, EGT, or another one? ahha

What size gauges are they? For placement, maybe purchase a pillar pod.

Re: gauges

lol ill give you sympathy;) what i have found to be good placement for them is behind the smoked glass on your dash. but to do that you have to move the gas/car temp gaug over its a fairly easy mod.
or you can put them where the two top vents are above where your cd deck sits. you sacrifice your heat or/ac in that section of the car but also looks sexy in that position or if you are feeling mega confident you can put them on the pass side a lil below where the air bag sits. but if they are there they are kind of out of sight.
you can really mount them wherever your heart desires it will just take time/dedication and hard work to make it look right and feel right in the car
goodluck hope it looks stellar

Re: gauges

I ROTFLMAO at this tread. i'm sorry but a guage is about the simplest "mod" you can do. shit they even come with directions in the packaging for the most part

Iwould mount them either behind the smoke glass (move the gas gauge all the way right and put the gauges in the middle) or just put the in the tweeter spot and get an a piller
