Re: gps in my car

or you can do something pretty freakin sweet.

im assuming you drive a 5th gen.

you know where the custom gauge pod goes where the hazzard switch is at?

you can fiberglass your own and get the pioneer navigation to fit in there, the one that looks like a double din but it only does navi

Re: gps in my car

I dont understand why you would want to do ^that. Since that would add more attention to your interior which would then lead to a more of a chance of your car being broken in to. I'm with bad's idea. You can get a cheap navi double din which is called the Eclipse 6620. The navigation runs off a cd, so no need to use satellite = Cheaper navigation. And I do use the word cheap loosely... I can get mine for $500 installed. That's with a iPod plugin, and a 3 year warranty.

Re: gps in my car

well yeah as true as that is....a good security system is always good to start off with before you even start modding your car.

but it will add a more luxury look as well uniqueness to his car

Re: gps in my car

I would get the double din navi or a flip out one. I haven't seen a lude with a navi where my gauges are but it might look good?

If u don't have an alarm...get one 1st!

Re: gps in my car

i was thinking of what importunerj said but i went the cheap way and split my cig lighter power outlet from 1 to 2. ran my radar detector and gps wires through my center console (radar detector ran behind my headunit, climate control, and up through where the clock is. gps wire is behind the headunit, climate control, then my gauges, and around the vent to the left of the gauges.)

id suggest doing that if you already have a gps like a tom tom or whatever kind that you can take out so it isnt stolen. if not, do the double din. sorry for a long post

Re: gps in my car

The reason most people attach the handheld units (such as the tomtom et al) to the windscreen is that they need direct line of sight to a satelite. Meaning if you mount it inside your dash it will rarely work.
