dome light LED question

does anyone know if these will fit in the dome light of a 5th gen?
if so do they plug right in or do i need a base?

WLED-x6 LED bulb
12 VDC 6-LED Wedge Base bulb (194/168 type)
With built-in voltage regulator
Select LED Color
$ 2.79

let me know if you know of any that would be better. also looking for some for the map lights so any links would be great

Re: dome light LED question

Nah the 4th gen has a 39mm festoon dome light I've correct. However if you have the map lights, then yes, the t10s will fit fine

Re: dome light LED question

I believe the fix is to install a resistor on the cathode side.

the reason being is the LED has a MUCH lower resistance than your normal Incandescant light does. And SINCE the dome light "trigger" is a negative "signal" you need to add resistance to get it to operate normally.

which one of the Festoon bulbs did you get?

Does it have one or three SM LEDS? Or more?

from Superbright:

Cool White FESTOON Style
operates on 9~14.8 VDC
uses 19 mA @ 12V

Incandescant Bulb consumes 10W of power at 12 Volts which is a draw of .83 Amps -- a SIGNIFICANT Difference!

So, what this means to you is a 200 Ohm resistor in series with the cathode end of the light to rid yourself of this problem....

(lemme double check my numbers-- I had to do this real quick.. dont want to mislead you.. LOL! )
