Whats the best Shift Knob?

Ok so my girlfriend ordered the p-spec short shifter for christmas for me.But before i install it i want to get a new shift knob .I like the feel of the oem one just not the looks. Also do i need a new boot when i get a new knob? I personally like the look of the Mugen knob but think it might feel worse than it looks so im unsure.

So Whats everyones Favorite knob and boot?

Also i have a white 5th gen with gold rims so im looking for mainly black, silver or white knobs, with a black boot.

Re: Whats the best Shift Knob?

i've had a stock shifter, a momo, a mugen (replica of the first), and a type-s/s2k (a replica of the second) and i must say the type-s/s2k weighted one felt the best. you don't hafta exert as much energy to pull/push the shifter into gear.
the mugen one does feel too light, where i hafta pull/push the shifter into gear too much as opposed to the type-s/s2k, and stock/momo.

Re: Whats the best Shift Knob?

I use the knob that came with the PSpec kit and I love it. Perfect size and weight IMO.

Re: Whats the best Shift Knob?

I'd rather have a ball-type knob than the one you have pictured in your first post, I just find them more comfortable to use. You could try to get the Top Fuel shift knob, they look kick ass and they are pretty comfortable (Big Mike has one in his Prelude, the one that was featured in HT a few months ago).

Re: Whats the best Shift Knob?

the skunk2 knob feels real fly, and is weighted at 440 grams so the knob practically shifts for you. the stock boot didn't fit to well anymore though on the 4th gen, not that i care.

Re: Whats the best Shift Knob?

you can use the stock boot and knob with the Pspec SS. I aslo heard good things about the s2k knob and the skunk 2. Just loooks like they may get real hot in the summer time.

Re: Whats the best Shift Knob?

the best shift knob is one that shocks or pokes you when you miss or grind a gear.

its what the japs use to train there drifters along with a retired chinaman in the back seat with a whip

I had the momo shot and it was amazing before it got jacked lol. I will not pay $150 for another shift knob. I'll tell you that much.

oh, my bad bro. haha

Days huh? I've been searchin for a year. Keep an eye on ebay though. They pop up every now and then. I bought this one for $130.

So be prepared & don't get your hopes up if you see em on other sites. It's usually the AT knob. Majestic Honda and other places that can get OEM parts have em listed, but can't order them anymore either.

It's a crap shoot bud. Jus keep an open eye.

P.S Brand new OEM floormats can be found on Ebay also. Beige or Black. $100 sometimes free shipping, sometimes not
