Icon5 Best way to do HID head lights?

Alright you'll have to excuse my ignorance here. I know very little about the entire process. My boyfriend has a 92 Honda Prelude with stock head lights that are very dim. He's wanting to get the HID and I told him I would buy him a kit off ebay, but I am needing to know which is the best brand and what all we would need to change his head lights over? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Best way to do HID head lights?

As far as fit goes, if it fits a 9006 (low beam) headlight it will work. But your bf will be "that guy" blinding the sh!t out of everyone on the road....unless he aims the cut-off low enough.
HIDs are not meant to be used in a halogen headlight housing. They are supposed to be used with a projector lense so they can be properly aimed. The ebay kits will most likely not last very long, start to flicker, and/or won't match in color (cheap chinese made parts).
I've been running Phillips X-treme Power for a few years now and I'm happy with them...brighter than stock and they are Halogens.

You can get good kits off of ebay, but they obviously will cost more. Stay away from cheap ones odds are they are indeed chinese garbage. You can definitely find good kits on there my buddy got a kit for 55 shipped for HID's for his plow truck and they are amazingly bright, bulb color match, very minimal, practically unnoticeable flickering.
