3M tape question

I just got 3M's 'super strength molding tape' to re-apply the little "H" emblems.
My question is: how much do I need to apply to it? Do I need to do the whole outer "square" and the H in the middle?

Re: 3M tape question

If you're gonna cover the whole emblem then it's easy!

Jus get waxpaper. Layer 2 strips of the 3M tape beside each other. Then place the H on top. At this point you should have the emblem on one side of the 3M tape and the waxpaper on the other. It's best at this point if you use a pen-knife and cut along the walls of the emblem so that your finishing piece should have the 3M tape only covering the emblem itself and slap that biitch on your Lude!

Re: 3M tape question

If you cover the entire back with the tape, it's going to be a b*tch to remove, if you ever try. I just had to do that with the crap front emblem on mine.

do you mean it'll be hard to remove the emblem off of the car or the tape off of the emblem? Or both, I guess?

Re: 3M tape question

It was hell getting that haggard emblem off of my bumper. Getting the tape off of the bumper was even worse. Took ages to get all of the foam off, and then the adhesive just wouldn't go away.
