Need a new paint job!

So my car is in dire need of a paint job and im hoping
this spring will be the time she gets it!

I have never had a car painted before and wanted to
ask the guru's out there if there is anything I should look
for in a paint/collision repair shop?

I have some damage on the driver side very minimal and
then was hoping to get the entire car sanded down
(by professionals) and re-painted.

I just want to know if there are tips for me in my process
of finding a reputable place. Will a repaint with the stock
color be cheaper than say going with Vibrant red from Nissan?

I appreciate any knowledge you can pass my way on this topic.....

Re: Need a new paint job!

From what i hear Black is the cheapest color since theirs only one kind of black(excluding metallic paints) as for the red color... i would recommend going to O'reillys and asking them how much that paint is that will give you a an estimate of the paint your looking for. As for changing colors it would be cheaper for the color that you have now since the trunk, interior, engine bay, hood underneath are all that color anyways. Prices range from $500-$2000 depending on how much damage their is and will run $600-$2800 if it has rust. and in some situations buying new body parts turns out to be cheaper and look alot more better.

i would go check out a few body shops and see what kind of work they have done in the past, mainly to check out quality of the painters.. you dont want to get drip spots or imperfections because of a ****ty painter.. what you should get is a black cherry paint so that it looks black but in the sun you can tell the red is there
