Afraid to take off PRELUDE emblem letters!!!

So i just bought a 98 red prelude with a faded rear bumper....my question is if i were to remove the emblem letters on the rear bumper would it just show my original color underneath? Anyone else had this problem and/or should i just leave them on until I can have the car repainted?

it will show fresh paint, you will see the letters in bright red.

Re: Afraid to take off PRELUDE emblem letters!!!

I just removed the letters from my car thinking that the paint wasn't that faded, but the shade difference is very obvious. The bumper now says PRELUDE in slightly darker paint, but I prefer it to the chrome letters.

My lude is Crystal Blue Metallic, and I've heard that red fades even faster. If the bumper is noticeably faded, you'd be better off keeping them on.

it depends on what your budget is, if you have to do any body work, and who you know. which ever you choose try and see examples of either ones work and see what they have done before.

avoid sprayglow if they're around you. Tons of my friends got bumpers/lips/hoods and stuff painted by them and it all started to flake and peel within months.
