Re: vinyl help!!

That would have to be a custom job from a vehicle wrap company. Will more than likely cost around 2500-3000 possibly more.

Re: vinyl help!!

Yes that would be a very custom vinyl job. I suggest calling a company, sending them the designee and getting a good quote.

Re: vinyl help!!

I don't really think anyone here knows anymore than what's already been said. Not many people want to drive a crayon box, so not many people know about vinyls.

Re: vinyl help!!

FALSE!!! IDK why people speak for others. You don't have to "want to drive a crayon box" to know about vinyls. If you truly want to do this as a two step process (meaning two colors only) and have the fade effect, then all you will need is about 13-15 yards of both colors (you WILL make mistakes, so that is more than enough to compensate) I personally bought 25 yards of one color and could have used another 8-10 yards, but made it work. And you will have to find a graphics/sign company to cut out the squares for you. All would roughly be about 150-200 (for cheaper vinyl) and could sky rocket to 1000+ for 3m. It will NOT be easy at all.

As for how to lay it out, I would choose one color (probably the orange) to take to a graphics artist and have them cut out the fade effect. Then, from what it looks like in your drawing, start with the orange directly behind the door. Cover the back half solid orange and the front half solid blue, then take your vinyl that you had cut for the fade effect and place it in the middle, starting from the back of the door going towards the front of the car.

By far the hardest part will be the bumpers. My suggestion would be to take them off and use a heat gun to mold the vinyl to all the curves.

Also, before you start placing anything on your car, GOOGLE all the vinyl write ups and how to's. Practice on a few smaller pieces. I would practice on a plastic bowl inside and out to get a feel of how the material will wrap. Heat it up and become familiar with how much the material can handle.

And always remember to measure 2-10 times and cut once. Always leave about 2-3 inches around the surface being covered, it can easily be trimmed away.

Good luck!! I know a bunch of people hate on vinyl, but F@#K EM!! it's not their car, right? Until they buy it from you they can't tell you what to do.

This is by far not as detailed of instructions that you need. But I hope that it will lead you in the right direction.

Graphic Solutions Group - great site with loads of vinyls and great customer support.

- great video to watch.

Re: vinyl help!!

I'll back brodie94 on this. This big of a vinyl job is going to be a pain in the ass, but if you want to tackle it yourself, the more power to ya'. Practice, practice and then practice some more! Measuring is your best friend for a job like this. Don't skimp out and buy cheap, ebay material. You don't want to bust your ass to get your car looking good, and then have it fade or peel off in a month. Watch every single youtube DIY video you can find, and read every single write up on the internet.

Good luck man, hope you pull it off.

I do think you're a "compleat noob" to the English language based on the heinous grammar and ****ty spelling in every one of your posts. Less Need for Speed, more 2nd grade English.
