replacing quarter panels

Has any had any experience/tips with this ordeal? Love my lude but needs to get some body work done before paint. Already found a new fender and door because mine have rust. Managed to find someone who is willing to let me take the back end of a lude. Was thinking that if I brought it to a shop having a quarter panel already cut out would be cost effective in the long run. They would just have to cut the rust out and weld in the replacement piece I already have. Thought?

Re: replacing quarter panels

Front quarters can be unbolted provided you haveaccess to a 10mm spanner and some time. Rear quarters will need a heavy duty cutting impliment. You're right about just cutting the rust out and welding in the replacement piece. Costs will be up to the individual body shop so check them out before you cut anything up.

Re: replacing quarter panels

Yeah I already picked up a new mint front fender just handed pop'd er on yet.

Rear passenger has a bad spot, driver has minimal but it's starting and I want it gone before it spreads. I found someone who would literally sell me half a lude, like cut the car in half through the trunk so I could take it home and cut out the panels.

I know it won't be cheap, it's something that's going to get done through friends and connections, can't afford no $1000 body job haha

Just wondering if anyone has ever gone this route or not
