4th gen stock rims

I don't have a lot of money to use at the moment and was wanting to do something to my rims. I have real all the threads that involve painting rims and feel comfortable doing it. All of my rims are in decent condition, nothing that some elbow grease can't take care of. I plan on doing my car black with electric blue. I was wondering what color would look better and if I should just save up for aftermarket rims. If you want I can post pics later. Like always, I'm open to any advice.

Definitely save for aftermarket rims, but in the meantime do them gunmetal or black, anything else looks cheap.

I have all the stuff to clean the rims up at home, about how much do you think the auto paint would be?

EXT: DIY RIM PAINT JOB

This seems to be a solid write up. What do you guys think?
And I'm still undecisive since they are the stock rims.

Re: 4th gen stock rims

idk I rattle canned my car with about 6 can primer (not to prep for paint, but to see imperfections, then paint)

so maybe like 2 cans of primer. Maybe 3 tops. And paint...idk I would guess like 4?
but then again i've never done it. lol

Re: 4th gen stock rims

All I did with mine was strip them, paint the holes black, and cleared the whole thing from there and made em look brand new. Painting the holes took a little time but I did it for $10. No use in spending more than that if you're not keepin them on there anyway. I did a write up I can link too if you want.

Sure. I'm taking all the directions I can. I was sanding one earlier and wasn't sure if I should sand the holes too. Will it be ugly if I don't do them also?

They arent painted. Its the stock finish with a yellowish light shining on them during the taking of the photo.

Re: 4th gen stock rims

what type of OEM rims do you have? post pics.

If you have SE rims, you can do the red inserts on them that will look dope!!

Re: 4th gen stock rims

I used some high temp spray paint for my wheels.. and they held up so good I was shocked.. with all the prep work done it can look real good.. even paint the lip on the rim also..or tape it
