New to Body Kits

Hello All,

Ive searched the threads and couldn't find anything on VFiber but I am looking to buy a body kit for my car and will be installing it myself. I know it can be a difficult task but i've managed to complete alot of new things successfully (some with hard lessons learned ) Im coming from trucks and being able to build bumpers and cages so im hoping this wont be too difficult.

Anyways. I have a 92 Lude Si and what im looking at is this Octane kit from Vfiber. It seems repretable but done wanna waste my money one a POS kit. Ive looked into VIS and dont quite like any of there kits. My main concerns are, does anyone have experience with buying from them(fitment issues, POS materials, etc.) I originally like Extreme dimensions kits but have heard to many bad things and no good things about them with fitment and return/replacement hassle. Any input or redirection to something more suitable would be appreciated. I am working with a 600 to 700 budget here. Thank you.

92-96 Honda Prelude 2dr VFiber PURE-FRP Octane 4-piece Body Kit by:

Appreciate it but i think the lip kits still make the prelude look thin imo. I wanna open up the view of it from top to bottom.

Re: New to Body Kits

I heard of vfiber. In fact I think they are just sellers for extreme dimensions. The body kit quality is frp but bend it hard enough it'll still crack. Install is a breeze since you'll be making your own holes and everything. Good luck!

Re: New to Body Kits

HondaVerno: Thanks a lot. The site Doesn't go into much detail on the condition it will be shipped in but i would assume it would need to be sanded and is not ready for paint. Safe assumption?

Re: New to Body Kits

No it's actually ready for paint. You would be surprised on how smooth they made it and sometimes they put a thin layer of gel coating on it. You'll see when u grab one.

Re: New to Body Kits

Get ready to get flamed lol. Dunno too many people on here who would even admit to EVER liking body kits...and of course the first response was the same "get a lip kit".

I personally do like lip kits better, BUT, A nice JUN set up would be kinda what you are looking for, and still not a whole bodykit. And, they arent THAT hard to find. I found a couple of sites with legit ones after a few minutes of googling. Price isnt TOO bad either if you know where to look. lol

Re: New to Body Kits

If a kit is what you like than go for it. Personally I believe it depends on the look of the car in question. If you go that route the work isn't that bad to fit the kits. I would recommend going over the kits with like 320 grit to 400 to get the paint to properly adhere in every shop I have worked we never paint them without doing so. And use a GOOD primer sealer.

Recommendation invest in a can of U-Pol fibral so you can repair and reinforce when it cracks. whether from bottoming, hitting something, or someone parallel parking bodykits eventually get cracked.

Re: New to Body Kits

if your gona go body kit a poly urethane front bumper is highly recomended because going out of high curves will eventually crack or chip the front bumper, me personally i like lip kits but everybody has ther own opinion

I love bodykits...jun, hiro, azect, buddyclub. The body kit don't require much to install. Taking care of it though is a little tricky.

really?... i think ur sh*t looks sick just the way it is with the lip and dumped

i like clean bodykits, not sure of the vfiber ill have to look at it....
but im with most everyone else with our Preludes, a lip kit and slam that thing and it will look nicer....and u will get a lot more postitive comments on your car from the Honda community.....the whole bodykit thing is a little bit Fast and Furious, Rice , Etc.....

but sometimes with the right kit , paint and wheels it will look okay..... , but u wont EVER see a kit on my Lude i know that

Re: New to Body Kits

Thanks for all the comments. I plan on doing it right and wont put a combo of wheels, kit, and paint together that looks tacky. Like anyone else i dont wanna drive around a Ricer or Tacky looking car. Gonna look more into the lip kits. Any links with your guys' opinions would be appreciated but of course google is the shiznit

Re: New to Body Kits

Honestly who gives a s-h-i-t! If that's what you want by all means make it happen, screw the haters. If you create a thread asking for opinions and don't hear what you want that's one thing, but everyone running their mouth against body kits should STFU. He didn't ask if you thought he should get one or not, he asked for info about them.

Hope your kit looks amazing and exactly how you want it to, good luck!

well im kind of new to the modding and body kits as well. i have looked at a lot of body kits, but what is the difference between a lip kit and the front bumper of a body kit? sorry for the ignorant question but im really not sure.

I know Buddy Club does both lip and body kits for the Prelude, but I've never seen a JUN or Azect body kit. I'm just wondering if they really do or not.

As for body kits in general, I've heard the biggest thing is that they're hard to maintain. The only way to make them look good (as with a lip kit) is to have the car lowered as well, and obviously an obnoxiously large front bumper will get scraped to sh*t very quickly. But, it's all personal perferance. The Mugen front bumper is considered a body kit piece, but that's Mugen.

Re: New to Body Kits

Its in!!! I went with a R34 kit from Extreme dimensions (Despite hearing fitment issues but i also heard they fit well with hondas) anyways it just arrived like 20min ago. Shipping only took 4 days(it did only come from Cali and im in AZ tho) I removed the front bumper while i waited for it to come in today (not to big of a deal just a little pain) so right now im rocking the radiator front lol. anyways im posting a quick mock up pic where i just set it on there w/o the vents and it looks like im not gonna have any fitment issues with the front so thats a good thing but we'll see when its actually put on. The car is definilty gonna need to be lowered and taking car of it will be a bitch but hey! Its my Baby!!!! Well new baby ive had the car for 3 weeks now.

Let me know what ya think. I already know most of you guys arent fans of BK but i wanted something nice and looks different. I dont get butt hurt about comments just keeping ya'll posted on my progess.

Gotta go to work but im off tom so ill finish it tom

Re: New to Body Kits

Hello all,

So after a days worth of work it all On. It probably only took a total of 6 hours of work or so but i kept taking breaks but its on. I am very satisfied with the front and the rear bumpers. The side skirts are bolted on but will need to be molded on for a cleaner look. The drivers side seemed to be a little warped so it is sticking out wider then it should so im gonna have to make a little bracket for it to completly finish it. Its on but its gonna be taken off anyways when the car is painted. Parts are all still dirty from drilling and such. So overall good install. Extreme dimensions Has good parts that fit pretty well. Some minor tweeking of the bumpers where they meet the fenders will need to be adjusted out words (just opening the hole bigger so that it moves outward is all). Thanks for lookin let me know what you all think...(besides shoulda went with lip kits comments lol). Ive had the car for three weeks now and it came stock so i think its coming along.

sorry if the pics are poor quality its from my phone cause my camera got jacked
