A Question about HID Kits

so i'm really new to all this stuff. what i want to know is will an HID kit have the right bulb to fit my prelude? my bulb size is a H7 but i watched videos of installation and apparantly the kit comes with it's own thing so i wont need to worry about the size? i really don't know. but yeah i'm just trying to buy a 12000k HID Kit and i just wanna know how i would go about it for my 93 prelude.
please clarify for me, thanks.

ps. also if you could, if you know a good place to get em cheap, link me.

Re: A Question about HID Kits

Why 12000k? You won't be able to see ten feet in front of you with that sh!t. HID kits are retarded without the proper optics to put them to good use (I.E. NOT halogen housings).

That being said, you'll need an HID kit for an H7 headlamp if that's what your current headlamps take. It should plug in to your existing harness and fit in the headlamp assembly without any problems.

What can I say? I'm a perfectionist procrastinator.

Besides, I was bored at work checking out the "New Posts" threads.. and lighting is a passion of mine lol.

Re: A Question about HID Kits

Just wondering, are your "projector lights" a cheap ebay angel eye thing, or are they a real retrofit light? From what I've seen with the ebay lights and HID's, they don't turn out so well. But, I've also really only seem them on the 5th gens, and never in person on a 4th gen.

Re: A Question about HID Kits

i just got mine from ddm tuning and work great and my depo one pieces i went with 8000k and visibility is fine. but with 12000k i wouldn't think someone would want that. but i had to rig my bulbs to stay in the housings just takes a bit of creativity.

Re: A Question about HID Kits

I've got 12k in my stock headlamps and they are bright. I've been pulled over three times this month for them. :(... So now I'm lookin for some 6k ones. Do I need to change the ballast as well as the bulb? Or can I just get some 6k bulbs?

Re: A Question about HID Kits

Just the bulb. The ballast has nothing to do with color temperature; all it does is fire up the bulb and keep the arc going.

Re: A Question about HID Kits

Funny, tonight at the gas station a 4th gen pulled up in front of me with HIDs in his stock lights. (Probably an 8000K if I had to guess) It definitely looked pretty bad.

Off topic: When I gave him the "fellow Luder head nod", he just kind of looked at me like I was an asshole. I was a little sad.
