So im getting my car painted!!! but i have questions!?

so i finally decided to get my car painted. not lookking for anything ridiculously nice like 1badbb6 but something respectable so im going to maaco to have it done.. should go with the paint service that has clearcoat in the paint or the paint service where they clear coat seperate??? is there a difference in appearence and quality? oh and i would like to see if anyone has a silver bb4 with a black hood and rims to get an idea of how my car well look...thanks!!!

I've never heard maaco and respectable in the same sentence before.

yea DO NOT go to macco, you can get a lot better paintjob done somewhere else for a little more money. you should just go out one day and collect estimates from everyone in your area and just talk to people and get a good feel for different companies. not saying you have to go all out like i did but get it done right so that it will last.

I knew someone who got his car painted for 200 from maaco once a year. It always looked fresh haha.

Maaco isn't necessarily bad. As with all shops, you need to do your research and ask around. Check out the work at your local maaco. Ask to speak with the person who will actually be doing the work. Many times if you have a nice conversation and slip the guy painting $30 the finished product will be like night and day compared to normal lol.

As for silver, I'd go with the two stage seperate clear. Unless you are going black or some basic gloss color, thats the way to do it.

I've never heard anything good about Maaco but maybe it will be alright. If your changing colors I would definatly take it elsewhere tho. Also, a single stage paint with clear in it never looks as good or protects as well as a seperate clear coat!!

If you go macco you defintley should go for there higher quality cuz it usally last about 2 years at best tell it starts to peel? and sepreate clear coat for sure i would also go with a stage 3 with them but its all about what you want and how long you want it to last

Re: So im getting my car painted!!! but i have questions!?

When painting pretty much any car, do a 2 stage(Base coat Clear coat) cause the look of the paint will come out much better. As for going to Macco, definitely do some research, cause they're all independently owned, but IMO, I still would never go to Macco for a paint job unless I'm just trying to get rid of the car....
