Exhaust picture thread!!!

1. Post a picture(s) of the exhaust system you have.
2. Type of exhaust you have.
3. Rate 1-10, 10 being highest on how you like it.
4. Sound (loud, stock, ricey, ect.)

Here's mine:

1.

2. Stick exhaust
3. 8 wanna get something better looking
4. We all know how it sounds.

This thread is to answer questions on how certain exhaust systems look and for information to reduce questions asked on exhaust systems. Post on fellow luders.

Re: Exhaust picture thread!!!

Exhaust #2 (#1 was stock)
1.

2. Apex'i WS2 catback. STOCK cat and piping!!! (which i think needs to be mentioned as well, which def affects alotta things)
3. Hung very low, got damaged alot, but put up w/ the abuse.
4. Sound rating; very hard for me to rate, since there was always something wrong with it, creating exhaust leaks; flex pipe scraping, hangers breaking off, blowing gaskets, etc...
From inside the car, it was as quiet as stock.
From outside the car, from the single time I heard it while a friend was driving it about 5 years ago, it was extremellyyyyyyyy sporty and aggressive sounding, not loud AT ALL!!! 8.5/10

Exhaust #3
1.
2. open downpipe (aka, no exhaust )
3. by far my favorite. but was getting pulled over 3-4 times a week for it
4. whats higher than 10/10?? 20/10? 30/10???

Exhaust #4
1.

2. Vibrant flat-black Stealth. NO cat, NO resonators, 3" piping from downpipe-back.
3. 9/10
4. I'm coming from 6 months of open-downpipe, so ANYTHING is quiet comparatively. Pretty quiet, still haven't heard it in person from the outside (which excludes vid clips), but I'd say is only a tiny bit louder than stock/WS2.

Re: Exhaust picture thread!!!

1.

2. Stock cat and piping; Magnaflow dual tip muffler
3. 7.5/10
4. Sounded great, especially when the exhaust was bouncing off the cliff walls during a high rpm drive through one of my favourite mountain passes. However was a tad loud at 2-3500RPM when loaded up, ie going up a hill in 3rd or 4th gear, which ultimately lead to it's removal. Because at 11.30 on a sunday night, I just wanted to go home and sleep, not make a tonne of noise.

I think it'd be a good idea to post up soundclips if you have them, that way we can actually hear what you mean when you're telling us how it sounds!

Re: Exhaust picture thread!!!

great idea on the thread, +1 again but i already gave you some rep not long ago...

megan cat back 2.5" piping, megan oe-rs welded muffler casing (3.5" tip)

rate it? 8/10...messed around with different variations and finally settled on this custom welded set up. not a rare mooogen or sheepdog so no 10/10...

sounds a wee bit loud for a muffler but i do have other work done that adds to the loudness...no exhaust tickets though

Re: Exhaust picture thread!!!

-APEXi WS2 (~2.4")
-Rating: 8. I give it an 8 because it's pretty much perfect IMO with the exception it sits lower than hell, scrape on a lot when I'm on the stock 16's.
-Sound is perfect, very quiet in the low RPM's (stock sound) but gets decently loud when you rev it up. So it's right in between stock and mildly loud.

Re: Exhaust picture thread!!!

Greddy Ti-C!!
orignally, maybe 6/10 sounded great in the bottom end, but just a lil too loud,
but since i added a 16inch vibrant resonator to it, say 9/10 still louder then stock, but really deeped toned, no ricey at all.
things i dont like about it, out of the box, it has no resonator. just straight pipe to the can on the back of the car, and it hangs low right at the rear axle area.

Re: Exhaust picture thread!!!

1. this **** affects the way it sounds too, so I included the photo... plus I just like to look at it. :)

I have bumped the header, but it was on uneven gravel and I'm lowered 1.7"

definitely needed new tires!

2. Ceramic header (basically OEM dimensions), magnaflow high-flow metal substrate cat, 16" resonator, Nopi titanium "N1 style" muffler (NO SILENCER), and 2.5" piping (crush bent)
3. 8.5/10
4. Deep, low tone, decent drone in the cabin (but most my sound insulation is removed), actually quite mellow outside the car (pre vtec...), but decently loud when you get on it (I might get a clip that isn't in a garage, lol)... I love the sound (the video really misrepresents it).

I also had a flowmaster 40 series cat back custom 2.25" exhaust on the h23... it sounded pretty mean (like these magnaflow boys).

I didn't get a resonator right away when I swapped, and IMO it was a bad idea (unless you just like making noise pollution, lol)... I literally wore ear plugs for any trip longer than 10 minutes without the silencer. My wife and I took it for a drive around a local lake, and when we got into town the reverberation off the brick buildings 50 yards away was amazing... Quite impressive for a little engine, lol... sounded like it might bring the place down. It's amazing what a resonator can do.... I might go to 3" exhaust and a hytech replica header one day... should lower the tone some more.

EDIT: hey djp, I love my fart cannon! so shut your ****ing piehole, lol... just kidding, I always hated a ****ing can on civics, esp when that was ALL that had been done to the car (oil changes included). I didn't think I was gonna like it that much on the lude, but it was their most expensive and highest quality muffler (got the titanium bling and it was only $115 because it was the display and the last one...) and my wife (sexy_lude_wife) LOVED it... that is the one part she picked for the car. It really grew one me... it seems justified when you've dyno-tuned, at least that's what I tell myself plus it's NOPI biznitch! so it's all cool, lol

DC header w/2.5" collector mod, stock cat, dual Greddy resonators, 2.5" piping to stock muffler.

Rating: 7/10

Sounds mean, neither deep nor high notes, just sounds aggressive. Plus it's OEM (no fart cannons for me). Can't get much better than that.

Apexi N1, catco high flow v8 converter, dc sports header. 8.8/10 Sounds amazing. No rasp at all. Although it does pop very loud when you let off the throttle.

^mine also likes to pop... I think the main culprit there is the "cat"... the insides didn't look very restrictive... The flowmaster cat back was a bit raspy, when cold only...

Re: Exhaust picture thread!!!

RMF header......... big upgrade from the dc sports that I started out with.

greddy evo II exhaust.

the dc header and evo II sounded great w/ the stock motor along with my v2 intake.
the RMF header and evo exhaust sound insane with my built motor. plenty of guys here that can attest to that.

Re: Exhaust picture thread!!!

i got a flowmaster dont have a pic but its i think an 40 series
1. i have obx header with custom full exhaust with flowmaster muffler
2. i rate this 5/20 because i had an obx muffler which was better
3. sounds low and deep like STi at idle and rice at high rpm's
i would say keep these on american cars do not buy!

Re: Exhaust picture thread!!!

Greddy Evo2 Cat-back

Rating: 8 out of 10

Personal Opinions: I like this exhaust alot. Has a nice deep tone to it. It has gotten louder after about 2 months of the installation though. The reason why not a 10 is because of the look. Not because it looks ugly or anything, but the style attracts too much attention from the popo. Especially becuase its polished too, but I'm thinking about getting it painted flat black.

Re: Exhaust picture thread!!!

Holy old ass thred bump batman.

I'm in the boat of looking for something very close to to stock, perhaps slightly louder when really getting on it. I dont want loud, dont want raspy, doesn't need to promise a ton of performance gains as its a DD, I just need to replace my OEM and I dont want want to break the bank.

So far I'm thinking of having pipes redone 2.25 or 2.5" - somehow get some sort of stock ish cat/resonator... and an OBX MV3089 muffler to round it out. Any one got any thoughts/ideas?
