Re: cheap paint

Modified mag, super street or import tuner painted an integra with rattle cans not too long ago and it came out pretty good. Cant remember which magazine it was tho. Try looking it up on the internet and see if they gave tips in the article

Edit: Felt nice and looked it up for ya. It was modified mag. Look how damn clean it came out!

They also tell u how they did it

Re: cheap paint

The problem with spray can paint jobs is that there is no UV Protection, and thats BAD JUJU. Ive seen spray can jobs done with clear coat over them and they look pretty bad ass. The clear coat over it gives the uv protection.

Ive told many ppl this and they always come back with "well i'll just get the spray can clear coat" and i want to bonk them in the head. If the spray can clear coat was true clear coat it wouldnt spray out of the can even. It would get hard because you need an activater in it. If your going to do a spray can paint job and want it to last, ATLEAST do a real clear coat job over it.

I still dont think anyone in there right mind that wants a nice lasting paint job should use spray cans....

Re: cheap paint

ya, I'm completely with partyman09 on this one. you don't want to skimp out on a paintjob. another thig with laquer, it doesn't really stop drying. I don't mean dry to the touch either. the solvents just keep evaporating and the paint cracks over time. if you wanna do some ghetto looking wannabe tuner thing, go for it. but a quality paint job is where it's at

Re: cheap paint

If you go to maaco make sure you do your own prep work, and anything you dont want paint on, take off! They really arent big into masking things off, but even a horid paint job can look better with a decent amount of wet sanding and buffing.
