15% or 35% tint

I am going to be redoing my tint soon and I wanted some opinions on what tint I should get. 15% or 35% tint. I had 15% tint on my other car and loved it, however it is illegal and was harder to see out of at night. I am afraid the 35% will be too light.

Anyone have pics?

Re: 15% or 35% tint

why not? they sell it at walmart! most shops carry it. and theres guys on craigslist that will tint your lude for 150. i did mine on my civic all by my self with 20% from walmart and it was great! no bubbles.

Re: 15% or 35% tint

I was thinking about gettin my windows tinted not too long ago and I was gonna go with 35 percent cos its legal. But one of my friends just got his windows tinted on his altima like a week ago and went with 35 percent. Its too light for me honestly. I would go with 20 or 25%

Re: 15% or 35% tint

I got 35% front and back, 20% on the door windows and 5% on the smaller windows. It's all about playing with the tint.

Re: 15% or 35% tint

If your tint is visibly too dark (it is easy to tell the difference between legal and illegal), it gives cops a reason to pull you over. Even if they aren't going to ticket you for the tint, they may find something that they will ticket you on! I was pulled over so many times for tint. One time, the cop tried to convince me that I was high because my contacts made my eyes red. Another time I got pulled over the cop wanted to see if I had been drinking. Even though I was driving perfectly, he was able to pull me over on tint. And another time, the cop claimed he couldn't see if i was wearing a seatbelt, but was wanting to find me doing something illegal. I removed my tint because it was getting outrageous. And I don't even live in a city...

Re: 15% or 35% tint

I'd say 20% is good bc it's dark enough for privacy and light enough for you to see through from the inside!!!

Where did you get the 25%?

I got pulled over last month for having 14% on the sides(which I thought was 20%), and 4% on the back windshield(which it is 5%). You have to consider the 1% from the tempered glass. So my sides must be 15%

Now Im going to court to get it dropped, but hopefully dismissed. The cop was harrassing me, cus he was doing a BS job patrolling a school zone lol. That cop must be a pussy....(I hope he reads this) lol

TINT LAW in WA state
This is from RCW 46.37.430
(a) The maximum level of net film sunscreening to be applied to any window, except the windshield, shall have a total reflectance of thirty-five percent or less, and a light transmission of twenty-four percent or more, where the vehicle is equipped with outside rearview mirrors on both the right and left. Installation of more than a single sheet of film sunscreening material to any window is prohibited.

Re: 15% or 35% tint

Hi everyone, I got mine tinted last week, 35% front and back and 25% on the door windows. Have you checked the legal window tinting limits for cars in your area? I got help at http://www.TintBuyer.com. They provide free relevant information for tint buyers such as its benefits, prices, laws involved in every state and help locate the best window tinters near your area.
