Re: help with rust

cut out the rust, clean up the cut
Get some sheet metal (22 gauge, 18x12 sheet should be enough)
Shape it as close as you can and weld it in
Bondo to make it smooth
Maybe expanding foam behind it to prevent rust from behind
Primer/ paint

Someone else could probably give you better advice
