Paint Question

Okay so here's the situation. My car is red..well extremely faded red...and I want it black. I can get the door jambs and trunk taken care of...and I have a carbon fiber hood...but as far as the engine bay..I don't have much I can do with it until maybe I do an engine swap...but I may not. Is it gonna be completely gay and rice if I leave it red? I really don't want my car looking stupid when I lift the hood..but I'm almost thinking it might be kind of cool..I have spent a lot of time getting my engine bay looking good and I hate to take a 180 and make it stand out like a sore thumb lol.

What do ya'll think? Have ya'll ever seen such thing? I saw a white car up here with a red engine bay and it didn't look right IMO but maybe black will be diff? I hate threads where people are always asking what color will look best and what wheels and stuff...but I have never seen such a thing as this..maybe ya'll have!

Thanks for the help

Re: Paint Question

Entirely personal opinion, myself, I'd just repaint it red if I couldn't paint the engine bay, if you don't mind then go for it.

Re: Paint Question

I think If you want with a red& black theme it would look fine. In fact I think it would look pretty damn kewl if you did your V.C. in a black with red sparkplug cover, and all of your other stuff in black. But maybe get red emblems( unless you intend to shave em) and such to tie it all together.

Re: Paint Question

I really think I could make this work..but the folks who are gonna do the body work aren't hopeful lol. They are saying black is the hardest color to work with since it shows every imperfection, which my car is full of. I am down for doing work but I don't have 4gs for body work haha. I also got to thinking..besides the car's door jambs I would also have to strip the door panels to paint the doors black and of course the trunk...inner fenders. It would be a ton of work. I would love to have a black Prelude but its looking like a sweet red paint job might be the way to go :/.

Re: Paint Question

If you add some red to some other places to make it look like thats the theme your going for i think it would look damn awesome. black/red go great together, i orginally was going to do that theme on my red lude.

Well If you are working on a budget red would be the way to go.

I would recommend that, but, it wouldn't be impossible to make black work...its just a matter of money/time/skill(if you are doing your own body work...)
