BODYKIT or NO BODYKIT.

BODYKIT=

pros: head turner, head turner and head turner!
cons: road bumps, hump bumps, sideways when going up/down

NO BodyKit=

pros= JDM lovers will love you, no bumps, nothing to worry about
cons= prelude are 80% "pretty" without bodykit.

just wondering, what shall i do,,, REMOVE and sell my bodykit? use the money to touch up my paint,
or just live it as is????

as im seeing some 4th gens without bodykit and paint is reall really well done.

any comments? thanks!

(friendly comments....thanks) heres my car...

PS: wud u also post ur car for some reference...

Re: BODYKIT or NO BODYKIT.

Body kits are head turner in a bad way now... most people want to puke when they see them.

Get a nice lip kit and call it a day.

And fix your exhuast... why is it angled down?

Yep, sell your kit, buy a full lip kit, will give your lude that other '20%" you're talking about

Re: BODYKIT or NO BODYKIT.

Body kits generally destroy the car's natural lines. I really dislike them personally, unless it's the Mugen kit.

Re: BODYKIT or NO BODYKIT.

There are nice kit such as mugen and a few from VIS racing but not many. It kills the body lines in the lude and in most cases looks ricey. A lip kit is a good way to get the lower look and what not. Even keeping it stock and dropping it would be a nice way to have it. That is also the look im going for right now on my current build.

And yes NO bodykit is better. Looks much cleaner and just plain beautiful. Heres a link to mine but doesnt have any lips so..

Re: BODYKIT or NO BODYKIT.

My perspective is in the middle. Your car looks righteous from the front but ricer from the back...

Either way if it's already on there it looks too good to take off.

Body kits were cool 5 years ago...Then again so was F&F

I don't think yours looks too bad(if not nice...But again I think they've fallen out of style...), but I just personally would never rock a kit, I say take it off...

Re: BODYKIT or NO BODYKIT.

Haha funny how many of these threads do get created. The general consensus is that they suck. There will be many motifs behind this but the major one is that they are associated with rice. Thats fair enough and i'm sure that anyone who has had a bodykit will know what they are like. Sure some of them look good but they are a pain to drive with. You end up scraping every where and you cant really take 4 people in your Lude then (not that we do it often in the cramped seating of the 4th gen).lol. In the end I still recon that bodykits can look good, there is a limit to the amount of rice needed to make something rice. As mentioned above, the front looks mint/non rice but the wing on the rear is all that really drags the car down, a little to much (literally lol). On the bright side the rear doesn't have after market lights, so that's a plus.

I see these threads as an opportunity to reach out to people who have been "riced out" by the riced up cars they run into on a daily basis. Yes, bodykits can be ricy but seriously they can be done right and can give your car a new look. Naturally a bodykit wasn't made to compliment the stock lines, your removing most of the "stock lines" through the bodykit anyway. Therefore, YOU have to make a choice in life, kit or no kit, and which ever one you choose, you can end up at "rice" regardless. Just make sure you do things properly and stay away from things that are just too much (like 5inch exhausts and spoilers that belong on a plane). And something I would like to add is that at the rate that lip kits are being installed they will become rice in 5 years (ps there are already ricy lip kits going around that are basically just half a body kit)!

And to finish I would add another Lude with a bodykit (my own), which I recon looks nice. I have made the kit so that I can revert to stock (now with accord lips hehe) when ever I want. Takes me 1 hour to swap from a full kit to stock bumpers! I enjoy both looks but the bodykit option scores higher in my opinion (since my car inst lowered).

http://i480.photobucket.com/albums/r...E/DSC04783.jpg

Oh and I recently refitted my modified stock lights (just for a different look again) but the car hasn't had a wash in weeks in that pic....

anyways...

i've been thinkin of removing the kit before i knew the "rice" word.
i bought the car riced...,, WITH CHROMES(imagine that)... i changed the chromes to bronze...

bought the car with know nothing about hondas, vtec, jdm and rice and all those stuffs...

okay, i was 17,,, got amazed.. and yes..there u go...!
only thing that hinders me everytime i thought bout removing it is that, yes it has kits but c'mon u gotta admit>>>its Black!..coupe!! pips dont see the kit as the "kit" they see it as a whole new Black car...

anyways... i'll keep posting my car till it gets the angry lookin "kitless" hahaha

btw, ur kitted prelude>>> gud thing its change-able(did i spell that ryt?) hahaha

Re: BODYKIT or NO BODYKIT.

Body kits just look cheap and out of place, and you always see them cracked or broken.

Re: BODYKIT or NO BODYKIT.

A boby kit USED to be cool but now is see them as extreme. Personally, I think your rear bumper and sideskirts are over the top.... And the front is borderline lol. Still a very nice car though. But dont listen to us... do what you wanna. PS, your wheel and tire combo looks sick!

They are most of the time but I recon it's purely an indication of how good the driver is!lol. I have had my kit on for 1 year and it's still looking just as good as what it did after I painted it (ie no cracks).

And yes chrome wheels and a bodykit would be over the top every time, but then chrome wheels on any car looks sick, literally sickening.

And yes they are indeed "associated with rice", but most build drift/show cars have them regardless of make so...not always the case.
