Re: high beams

How can your headlights be wired wrong? They're two seperate plugs, running two almost seperate circuits?

Also, people who drive with high beams on all the time is about fifth on Brash's list of people who can get fked and should be shot.

yes please fix it... It will be annoying during the day and just plain dangerous at night

the only people that can get away with driving with their high beams on are bikers (and only during the day)

Re: high beams

Sorry, I just realised that nobody has actually answered your initial question.

Yes the police can be (as you so politely put it) dicks about it. I'm not sure what the system is where you are, but over here they would put a defective vehicle notice on the car and give you 12 hours to get it off the road. Then depending on the severity of the defect, you will either have to get it to a police station and get them to sign off on the fact that you've fixed the defect, or the car will have to go to the inspection station and be put over the pits and fully inspected.

Re: high beams

It's not about how bright they are, it's about how well they're aimed. And high beams are aimed high (this term was coined when they were first invented, because the beam of light was higher than the regular beam of light, which since then has been referred to as "low beam"). If you have poorly aimed HIDs then you will be causing just as much trouble as before, if not more because you have more light.

Seriously, if you haven't got your headlights sorted, then HID is an incredibly dumb thing to do.
