It's your car if you like it do it if you don't don't. Don't let whats "in" or "out" make you change your mind. Plus a thread about this has already been posted.

Re: opinions on lambo doors

each to its own, if thats what you like, go for it

but i believe they are a hazard, just in case (god forbid) you flip your car, you wont be able to get out of it. Thats one of the reasons why lambos started making the regular opening doors like the gallardos.

Re: opinions on lambo doors

I know a few people that have lambo doors on there cars and apparently there not all too fond of them. A few things to think about is you should make sure there not a cheap set. Also sometimes with lambo doors if even installed properly have a chance of denting your fenders when trying to open them unless its a really good set and installed perfect. Another thing is my friends told me its a pain when they have someone getting into the passenger seat that doesnt know how to open them. Sounds stupid I know, but my buddies alwasy end up having to open the doors for them because he doesnt want to cause damage to his car. Besides that, i think they look sweet lol and I want some in my car.

Re: opinions on lambo doors

lambo doors are cool but i feel like the trend for that died out a long time ago plus they can also bring unwanted problems if not done correctly..and once u do them its gonna cost u alot of money if u wanna put the doors back to the way they used to be and they may never go back the same.

Re: opinions on lambo doors

If you want them, get them and don't be discouraged by what everybody else says. However it is a lot of work, and to be honest I've never seen one that I'd be happy sitting next to if somebody crashed into the door - the hinge mechanisms always seem to look very flimsy. Also, many of the kits require the door to be pulled out about two inches, lifted, then rested against the bodywork. Can you do this constantly? What about passengers, can they be trusted to do this without hurting all the bodywork around the doors?

And remember that unless the door actually goes vertical, then you are seriously restricting the amount of space you have to get in and out of the car. And if you plan on fitting a race style seat later on it will make it near impossible to get in. I once worked on a Supra that had scissor lift doors, and a rigid cf race seat, and before you could get in you had to push the seat all the way back. I get annoyed having to move my seat when my missus drives the car, and she doesn't drive it that often - I cannot imagine having to move it every single time I get in and out the car.
