I love the pic in the snow! Nice to see someone actually 'using' their Prelude, too.

Re: 1999 Honda Prelude NHBP

Nice pix. Nice scenery. Nice car.

But...
And I mean this in a positive way....
Back off on the photoshop. Waaaay too much contrast. Unless you are purposely trying to create a cartoony look, then disregard...or maybe try some hi-def software.
And that loud logo. To each his own on that, but it is a huge distraction in the lit arch pic.

The succesful photo draws to eye instantly to the main subject first...not the logo. So maybe play with differing color schemes for that so as to ensure the eye isn't drawn there first due to huge-ly contrasting colors.
Your backgrounds keep the eye tuned onto the photo all looking around for 30 seconds or more. Bravo!

But honestly I thought your car was green or dark blue in several of them.
Shiney black cars are tough to get right.
Nearly everytime I shoot mine, it either takez on a blue or green or worse...brown. Hard to get the white balance of the car correct...then all those greens browns, blues, grays etc of the not car part of the photo. I shoot in RAW, then tweak the white balance when needed before doing any contrast. Many times getting the car correct leads to screwing up the background or visa versa. Then you get all that right and ⊙▁⊙ cars looks dry n dull. Ugh!!!

Black cars are really tough to keep clean, and tougher to photograph.

Snow pic looks marvelous. My favorite is the lit arches with the starburst fog lights....

Re: 1999 Honda Prelude NHBP

Alright, in the name of honesty I swiped these photos from facebook...but to make a point I chose non car related subject matter from a vintage bike shop who's proprieter shoots some amazing "snapshots" of his surroundings. He too has an eye for great photos, like you dtt.

^^ a rather ordinary photo of a rather ordinary old bike.
He was showing off a bike he just completed.
But notice how long you stare at this hi-def pic...the tunnel, the wall, the stripe on the road, back to the bike tires... the hi-def thing works.
Now...

^^ again, a rather ordinary old parts box pic.
But between the stickers on the laptop, old bikez nearby, all that 'stuff' in the background...
He was showing an old parts box he bought quite some time ago, but the photo will have ya staring at it for several minutes.

Re: 1999 Honda Prelude NHBP

Quiz time.
A boring car pic vs a not boring pic of an old, but fresh engine with zip for background.
Why is the REALLY cool car pic dull, but the boring motor pic is not?

^^ boring photo of a very cool car

^^ not boring photo of a boring motor.

And you probably know why dtt...
Keep up the good work.

Answer:
Car pic; (note photographer trying to sell the car)
Shoulda blurred everything but the car. Big apperature shot. Shoulda backed away a little and zoomed in for a less surreal effect. Nose of car seems out of step with the rest instead of being a natural perpective.
Also shoulda had more (albeit blurred) borders. White car has slight brown hue, which leads to a further 'vanilla' look. Could be white balanced tweaked with less red but more blue to brighten the white, yet still keep background colors natural.
Car being e-auctioned. A good attention grabbing photo could potentially make bidders go higher

Motor pic; (note photographer proud of his engine)
Well lit motor pic gives you lots to look at. Good angle. Well chosen lens (or focal length if a p&s was used) with no funky bendy look to the engine, but a natural looking perspective of the crank pulley etc as it gets further away.
White balance leans towards blue...lending a subtle gun metal psycological appeal. What car guy don't like guns? But it also creates a more pleasing appearance to otherwise dull alluminum.
Then the goldish oil filler cap and pulleys keep you looking around.
This one holds the attention of the casual observer a lot longer than the car pic.
