Icon10 My 4th Gen NEW PAINT, & more *PICS*

After the accident I was in, I had no choice but to repair the Lude. Went to a local salvage yard and bought a new hood, and fender for $160. Installed next day, along with fixing bumper dents with fiberglass repair.
After I fixed the body work, I took it to be painted. Images 3-7 show how nice it looks now. Front and Rear Lip is Accord.

I still have work to add to the exterior, New 17" 505A Rims custom made, new corner lights, a left headlight, waxing, and some other stuff. Will Post more pics when I get the other items installed.

Thanks man. I'm not sure which black it is, I'm not the one that ordered it, my step dad did. But it's still no where near as clean as your 5th gen is. Your ride looks fantastic! GL on ROTM.

It cost me $750, they fixed most of the little dents that I didn't get to aswell. IMO, don't go to Maaco though. They're cheap for a reason.

Oh yeah bro. As soon as I found out what lip kit it was, I had to get it! The Accord kit gives it that lower sporty look. Just love it. :]

There's a few reasons I don't recommend Maaco.
1. A lot of other threads I read said that Maaco doesn't prime. Which leads to paint chipping faster. I got a all in one paint though.
2. They didn't cover my tail lights when the sanded, and they sanded parts of my tail lights.
3. They sanded large ammonts of my corner lights, *now i need new ones*.
4. They sanded parts of my windshields.
5. They sanded my weatherstripping.
Pretty much, they did a bad job at taking care of my parts, aftermarket at that..
6. The paint has runs in some spots.
7. They left a little mound of bondo on my door that they didn't sand all the way, and painted over anyway.
8. They put a new dent in my left fender.
9. They superglued on my Front Honda emblem, which I had to take off to put on my new Red jdm emblems, and it tore the paint underneath.
10. I might not have paid enough to have this done, but they didn't paint under the hood, it's still red, and the fender part under the hood is red too.
11. They painted over my Windshield washer nozzels, which can be removed easily, and now is still red underneath them.

I don't like to whine, but after my experience with them. And looking at other threads on google talking about how bad of a job they do. I felt the need to say that.
I'm not saying not to take it there, because it is pretty affordable. And it's not the worst job.
But I'm not thrilled about those reasons I listed above.

Re: My 4th Gen NEW PAINT, & more *PICS*

Nice car bro. Iv heard a lot of bad stuff from macco, my buddy got a macco paint job for his accord before he sold it. It was a stock black color before and he got a dark blue metallic paint. It looked fine at first and got sold quick. About 4 months later the guy that bought his car called him bitching at him the paint on the rear bumper was coming off. So yeah I'm not going with macco I'm going to save up for a while and get a real nice paint job like 1BadBB6, not sure if Ima paint it black or keep it silver.

Im not trying to take up for Maaco or say that what you have said what was wrong but I personally have had a Maaco paint job. Before I went I was really skeptical because my sister went to Maaco in the past and her car came out crappy. She went to a local Maaco and just got her car painted because she got into a accident. I live in NJ and got my car painted over by another Maaco in Linden, NJ where I heard that they do good work. I paid a $1000 due to needing body work as well, but I believe you get what you pay for. From what I saw they have levels of services that they provide and most of the time people probably go for what's most affordable. It been a few months now and my paint is still great. I really think it depends on what service you get and where you go when it comes to Maaco. They know people dont expect the best because they dont pay that much for the job. Lastly, its not always Maaco that sucks but the employees that do not take pride in their work that mess up people's cars.

Yeah, you're exactly correct man. I wasn't trying to diss on Maaco, I believe I did get what I paid for. I just wasn't expecting to see most of my aftermarket parts and stuff with scratches on them from the sanding. And the new nice size dent on the left fender.
I believe it was the employees like you said, that didn't take much pride into repairing my car. I can't really say that it's Maaco, I just happend to get some workers that messed up a bit.
It still looks amazing to me, and I plan on fixing the flaws and continuing to fix'er up. :]

Thank you for all the positive replies, everyone.

Yeah man that's just the way it is sometimes. it does not matter where i work I will do my best. If it is flipping burgers Im going to make the best burgers ever lol. Alot of people just do the minimum and just leave. Maybe you should tell them that they messed up on parts of your car? If the place is run by a good manager maybe he will tell the guy who worked on your car "Why did he sand down areas that he shouldn't have and did so many other mistakes?" Either way I think your car looks good and black is an awesome color!

so does anybody know of a place in the jacksonville/ orange park area that's a little more reputable than maaco as far as their quality of work goes? i'm not looking to spend any more than TheLudeDude did. hey LudeDude, did the 750 include a clear coat or was it just a coat of black? also primer? sorry for the interrogation...

If the place is run by a good manager maybe he will tell the guy who worked on your car "Why did he sand down areas that he shouldn't have and did so many other mistakes?" Either way I think your car looks good and black is an awesome color!
Yep. You gotta get up in the morning, yell "I'm ready" and make some Crabby Patty's the best you can.. :P
I would go back and complain, but it's a 2hr drive, and I think I can just buff most of the scratches out. I'll have to take the fender off to fix the dent tho.
Thank you.

If you're looking for a Repair shop in your area, Google "Auto body and paint repair shops in (your location)" Go visit a couple places, walk in and tell them what you want done to your car, and they'll give you an estimate.
The paint on my car is an all in one kinda paint, so mine is primed, along with the clear coat. Maybe run that by them to see if they can hook you up with a paint like that aswell. Or just ask them if they prime.
