New header *pics of coloring*

Alright so ever since my swap I was borrowing a friends DC Ceramic Header. He's selling his lude so I had to get a new one.

So hereeeee we go

Freshly Installed

After driving about 5 miles, it started turning gold.

After driving about 20-30 miles, turning blue / purple

P.S. I washed the engine bay shortly after taking the 3rd picture.

Damn WTF? I thought the stainless steel were less likely to rust? Meh, I prefer my old ceramic DC's...I've had those for years and theres no sign of weak spots, broken welds or rust.

honestly these headers are more for a dressy look for the engine bay but if you really want a more bang for your bucks i recommend tri y header

The ceramics with eventually rust too, just not as bad. So, no, I don't think there are any headers that won't eventually rust.

And no the DC is 4-2-1.

Then abel's post really confused me... Why would he recommend a tri-y when he already has a tri-y? lol

Re: New header *pics of coloring*

its not just that stainles steel will rust so much as it is that that its a stainles steel header that is being constantly expanded and contracted until the coating will give somewhare eventualy. put stainless any whare else on the car and it will last alot longer....
the tri-y should not rust tho, will it guys?
and honestly i love my tri-y but $ for hp i think it was NOT worth it.
at all switching from my dc to this i felt no difference except for when i rev to thirty thousand on the bottle felt a lil better....
considering i could have purchased 3/4th of a ebay turbo kit for what i payed for it.

I honestly don't think the Tri-Y Header will do much of anything for a 4 banger, I see it having the most performance gains out of a v6, v8 or higher.
*opinion, not fact*

I've said it before and I'll say it again, spending a buttload on a good header isn't that bad, considering the DC header shows minimal (if any) gains, and it's still what like, $400? No thanks. I'll spend twice that much and actually get something for it.

And another thing... power is not easy to come by on our motors whatsoever. If you're worried about cheap power then these are not the cars for you.
